Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
Duke loses in the first R2 game. I don't think I had them out of the Sweet 16 anyways.

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
duke uconn and gtown really stunk
hibbert gets 6 points against a davidson team that doesnt have a big man
duke,a 2 seed doesnt make the 16 for the 1st time in recent memory and may have been the worst 2 in tourney history
then uconn loses its 1st round game for the 1st time in 15 years?
so far
stanford wash st and nova have really impressed,i love the pac 10 defenses
mich state is a good team but they destroyed a red hot pitt team making them legit final 4 threat
ucla staggered against a&m,memphis cant make free throws
texas and their guards are dangerous, kansas is playing very balanced hoop and carolina is making the rest of the ncaa look like d-2 with their play.
from what ive seen
nc mich st and kansas and ucla are my pix but wisconsin and wash st play great d and texas has the guards and stanford the balance
its open for anyone at this hour with nc being the odds on favorite

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
i'm scared for UNC. i didnt pick them but Wazzu is playing great ball and louisville (my final four pick for that section) is clicking on all cylinders, they're just as deep as UNC.
MSU is playing well, I like them to give Memphis a game, but I don't think they can get by either stanford or texas

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
My brackets are crap.
I counted on the usually reliable second round exit of a Bill Self-coached team, Duke making it past the second round and a couple of Catholic schools that got into the tournament by winning their conference tournaments.

Oh my god... holy shit... Chalmers hits a 3 pointer with a man in his face to tie with 2 ticks left!!! What a game!

I think they lost the game on the fast break where they took it to the hole with 0:14 left and a 2 point lead. Kill a little clock there. Instead he got fouled and bricked two. That's coaching. Calipari isn't one. He's a recruiter.

Good point. On that note, I was thinking the same thing when Brandon Rush went for the layup when he got behind the defense and the shot got blocked... and then again when he got the board and put it back up. It worked out for him a little better than for Rush than for CDR, though. I don't remember the score or time at that point but I remember thinking running off 30 seconds would've been just as good as scoring a quick two.
edit: Speaking of mental mistakes... how about that silly foul Dorsey committed that took him out of the game?
On another note, classy by Memphis to not foul and extend the game with meaningless fouls and freethrows since the game was all but over at that point.
Nothing better than the NCAA tournament. Nothing.

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
am i surprised memphis lost because of bricking free throws in the final minute?
absoluetly not.
i think they missed 4 or 5 in the final minute and a half

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
I was the only one in my pool to pick Kansas and had 3 of the 4 final four teams, but I got schellacked so bad in the first two rounds that I still lost.

I had the final 4, final 2 and the champ picked correctly, another tourney bracket championship for the displaced Yankee fan.

And I continued my streak of being eliminated from the running by the 2nd day of the tourney.... But for what it's worth, I did have Memphis to pick it all (with UCLA winning just to spite me... I thought UCLA had the best team, but they had a tough bracket to come out of so I went with Memphis), and came close! First time in years I've actually had my pick in the final game. Great success!!!
