Re: 2008 Boston Celtics Playoff Game thread
lebron can't play against team defenses
when you throw 2-3 guys at him off pick and rolls he panics and either fades away or tries to dribble around in to get to the rim and make a ridiculous pass
he's clearly flustered right now, and i absolutely love it
talk about an underrated acquisition in posey

Re: 2008 Boston Celtics Playoff Game thread
again i will revert to the inherint character flaw that shows men who cheer for teams outside of their home town struggle with self esteem issues.
despite being a gifted 6'8 250lb guy with a great jumper, he hasnt done what it takes to get to the next level.
he may yet win a few titles but at this hour the man is dumbfounded confused and incompetant,he aint missing 25 foot contested jumpers, hes missing lay ups, free throws and everything else he throws up..

Re: 2008 Boston Celtics Playoff Game thread
Haha first thing that came to my mind is James Posey= Chris Paul
Not seeing how that is working tho lol
Anywayyyyyyy I was listening to WEEI today and they were talking about home court advantage being so critical in the NBA as opposed to other sports. Why do you guys think that it is so hard for the opposing team to come away with a W on the road? I mean how much can a crowd be so distracting for players at this level?

James Posey = Championship Player
It's nice to see the Celtics unleash their new road gameplan...not even fucking trying.

Officiating. The NBA is a home team sport and always will be because of the officiating.

Re: 2008 Boston Celtics Playoff Game thread
NBA players are pussies, who get scared very easily. In this case, the crowd is mean, and very loud.

Re: 2008 Boston Celtics Playoff Game thread
Home advantage is definitely a bigger deal in the NHL. Besides the fact that the fans are nuts, the last change on faceoffs allows coaches to line-match.

Exactly.
Part of the issue is that when there is incidental contact, the refs have a tough time determining who a foul is on to begin with...so the foul goes to the visiting team. How many times last night did we see a Cav go up for a shot, and the Celtic defender jumps straight up, arms extended perfectly above their own head, and whether there is meaningful contact or not, the Celt is whistled for the foul? Happens in the celts favor in Boston too.

Re: 2008 Boston Celtics Playoff Game thread
Kilo nailed it. 50/50 calls -- which there tend to be a lot of throughout a game, go more to the home team.
Celtics better learn how to win on the road. You need to have a winning mentality and it's tough to do when nobody on your team has ever won anything.
