Re: Bruins 2009-'10 Season Thread
We got Dennis Seidenberg, he is no savior but he will help out on the defensive front. Hopefully guys like Ryder will benefit from more solid neutral zone play like he did last year. Still, we failed to address our biggest need, a scoring winger. We have a somewhat easy schedule coming up over the next 5 games, so lets make up some ground and get to the 6th seed. I think right now Buffalo is the 6th seed, and I think we at least have a shot against them.

lol, really? The same guy who led them to four straight wins before the break, something that Thomas hasn't done all year?
Give me a break. Chiarelli has fucked this team for this season. I just hope he doesn't fuck them during the draft. The Thomas contract is an abomination and the only silver lining I can see from it is that he'll finally stop handing out NTCs and NMCs like candy.

The players fucked the team this year. Chia certainly didn't do anything to help though.

Disagree. I think any objective Bruin fan would have seen that last year was an utter and complete abberation. Chiarelli should have started with bringing in a scorer, if he did that in the offseason, we wouldn't be seeing the panic we did at the deadline.

Re: Bruins 2009-'10 Season Thread
Damn near everyone has underachieved this season. Couple that with their injuries and you have a recipe for disaster.
Everyone who follows the team closely knew that a repeat of last season wasn't coming. Nearly every break last year was in their favor.

Re: Bruins 2009-'10 Season Thread
The team we have this year is the team we are. No one's really underachieved except maybe Wheeler.

Are you kidding me? Chara, Krejci, Wideman, Ryder, and Thomas just to name a few.
Probly doesn't need to be said but Cherry is the man.

Chara: Playing well defensively, normal offensive game isn't there but he's been playing well defensively.
Krej: Young player, overachieved last year. Is a second line center at best and can't be relied upon to carry a team.
Wideman: He's always been mediocre.
Ryder: Benefitted from Ryder and Krej having a great year last year.
Thomas: If you don't think he had an abberation year last year, you're out of your god damn mind.

Chara has not been playing well at all imo. He's been pretty mediocre by his standards for a large portion of the year and I'm not even factoring his offense that much into it.
Krejci has battle some injuries but he's taken a step back this year when he should have continued to build on his good season last year.
I'd love for Wideman to have been mediocre this year. He's been AWFUL.
Of course you do better when your line mates are playing well but Ryder has been on multiple lines this season and has been non existent.
We all knew Thomas couldn't replicate last season but did anyone really believe he would have lost his starting gig to Rask so early this year?

Re: Bruins 2009-'10 Season Thread
I thought we should have let Tim go and go with Rask full time instead of overpaying for a 35 year old one year wonder.

Well that's a different matter that we have all discussed in length.
