Where will LeBron sign?
I know there are some NBA fans on here, and was curious to get everyone's opinion.
Who do you think LeBron signs with next year and why?
I'm not familiar with the NBA's salary cap and all those mid level exceptions or something, so I'm not even sure if there are multiple teams that can even sign him
I know it's early in the NBA season, but it's been a hot topic and I thought it make for interesting conversation here.

I honestly doubt that it's NY.

Re: Where will LeBron sign?
I'm not up to speed on the NBA salary structure either.
Objectively, I hope he stays in Cleveland. That city needs a marquee player of some kind.
He grew up in Ohio and is probably pretty happy there, I would think.
The talk is New York Knicks. Boston fans want the Celts to snag him.
Anywhere but L.A. Lakers, please!

Re: Where will LeBron sign?
He's driving up the price by fueling rumors about going to New York and Miami. I think he'll stay in Cleveland.
Btw, classy move by him to try to retire MJ's number league-wide.

Re: Where will LeBron sign?
I'm not that happy that lebron wore shoes that said 27 on one shoe and another shoe said new york.

Wrong.
He's getting the 'max deal' regardless of where he goes, Cleveland can just offer him more. There is no 'price driving' here.

YH, if you don't mind explaining, how exactly do NBA contracts and the free agent process work? I'm confused about the whole "max deal" thing.

The team that has the player right now (this example means lebron) can offer 10 million more than any other team last time I checked.

Re: Where will LeBron sign?
What about that $50M/YR contract to play in Russia?
Whatever happened to that?

I think by the time free agency rolls around, he'll have already decided whether he's staying in Cleveland or leaving. He'll be making an obscene amount of money pretty much no matter where he goes.

I don't know it down to the smallest details, but the team who had his rights previously can offer him a bit more money.
For the thread: I'd say Miami. They'll have tons of cap room, I'd bet they try and (essentially) swap out Wade for LeBron, and then sign a second all-star type player (Joe Johnson or Chris Bosh, more likely Johnson). New York is a possibility if Miami chooses to keep Wade and those rumors about LeBron really wanting to play in a running game are true. They also have tons of cap space and could sign Stoudemire in combination with LeBron, which would be really scary. I'm starting to doubt he stays in Cleveland.

Re: Where will LeBron sign?
I didn't think that Russia got over its racism in order to have a basketball team.
