I like Ziggy Hood, and if Heyward reaches potential they're in business at DE. I'd definitely look for replacements for Hampton, Harrison and Foote immediately, and probably should be scouting a replacement for Troy P even. Also, their O-line is still mediocre, and the running game cannot depend on Mendenhall.
They could realistically rejuvenate their team in 1-2 years if they stop clinging to these ancient players.

Yeah, I definitely agree with this. I feel like a lot of the older guys are going to be let go this off-season. Hampton is done, Foote is likely done and has already talked about retirement and Harrison at the very least is going to need to take a drastic pay cut and I wouldn't be surprised if the Steelers just let him go, they usually don't cling onto old declining guys, they usually just let them go. For example, Jason Gildon and Joey Porter. I feel like Polamalu has a few years left, but him and Clark are both over 30 and they definitely need to start looking for a safety, this is one position I'm really worried about, they have no young viable options to replace either player at this position. Will Allen played well in Polamalu's absence and is a solid backup, but nothing more.. and Ryan Mundy just sucks.
I don't really see a big safety prospect this year that the Steelers could potential get, but most mocks have the Steelers taking Ogeltree or Mingo, I'd be fine with either, the Steelers could use a young LB with superstar potential.

Re: Official NFL thread
Well, at this time of year I thought we'd have 7 or 8 wins max, maybe less even. Here we are, 10-6, ready to face the Packers for a second week straight having beat them as time expired last week at home. This time we're on their turf. Can we do it? Yes we can!
I just hate facing elite QBs though, Rodgers knows how to shred the shit out of a defense in man, zone, combination coverage, etc. I think the plan's going to be getting pressure before he can pick through the zones.

Re: Official NFL thread
I think coach Frazier has been planning to use Webb to catch GB off guard with an athletic QB. Maybe I'm overthinking this whole Ponder being out thing.

Re: Official NFL thread
This Bengals/Texans game is very ugly. Andy Dalton probably just had the worst 1st half of a game I've ever seen from a QB.

Re: Official NFL thread
I don't know about that. Dalton was 4/10 with 3 yards at halftime... At least Webb has some rush yards.

Re: Official NFL thread
I like GB better, but I'd rather have Rodgers out of the playoffs for New England's chances. Then again Rodgers helped me win my fantasy pool at work so I can't get myself to root against the Packers.
I was surprised with how poorly Cincy did though. Houston/NE should be a good game.
I'm more excited about tomorrow's games.

Re: Official NFL thread
Been a Packers fan my whole life even though I'm from MA, so I'm pretty happy right now. Rough rough game for Minesota though..... Webb couldn't even get the ball near anyone. Tough loss.
Edit: Seattle and Washington should make for a pretty good game.

Re: Official NFL thread
I just want to thank the football gods for finally getting rid of those sack of shits Norv and AJ. They overstayed their welcome in San Diego, now get the fuck out. You will not be missed you shitheads. Now that they're gone, hopefully Rivers gets his groove back on cause he's in a decline. With beavis and butthead out, he continues to suck the big one, get his ass out too.

Re: Official NFL thread
The Indy/Bal one was good for a little while, and Hou/Cin had its moments, but GB/Min was a snoozing rapefest.
That said, not being a fan of any of those teams makes the games less watchable. And at 14-0 this last game isn't looking much better.

It's getting very interesting. IMO this is the most balanced WC match.

Re: Official NFL thread
Seattle vs Washington has gotten interesting. Seahawks D settle in and RG3 looks like he's got a flat tire and the field is atrocious. Redskins should be embarrassed by the state of it. Franchise is I believed to be worth the most in the league and I've seen High Schools with better turf.
