Formula 1
Who here watches F1, i am a diehard fan of F1 racing. last week it was Malaysia and it rained and suddenly pitstop strategies became really important and Ferrari was able to win with Fernando Alonso who was able to take care of the sensational Sauber driver Sergio Perez as he came 2nd even though he gave a tough fight to Alonso.
Mclaren didnt strategize well and came in 3rd with Lewis Hamilton.
anybody here watching it?

Re: Formula 1
"Checo" Perez was great. I thought he could win the race in the end, maybe next time. This kid has a lot of potential IMO.

Re: Formula 1
someone made a funny comment saying when he lost his control, it was Ferrari signing the contract with Perez so let Fernando win and they will give him Massa's seat. and infact that is going to happen sooner rather than later.

Re: Formula 1
yeah! I heard some jokes about that too.
He has lost some points (this/last season) because the Sauber engineering team has made several technical mistakes with the car. Give him a better car/team and he will surprise everybody in F1, regardless Carlos Slim is sponsoring him.

Re: Formula 1
I used to be a big fan but now , not so much . I still follow it though.
I'm a huge M.Shumacher fan .
Would be awesome to see him at the top again . He should have never left.

me too huge Schumi fan.. if he hadnt left, he easily had 2 more championships under his belt. the 07-08 Ferraris were pretty good. this year has been the most radical for them by far.

its crazy what a big difference a good driver can make the car look so good. Kobayashi hasnt been able to put up these numbers yet. but we shall see. i see Perez driving the Ferrari in 3-4 races if Massa keeps making blunders.

Re: Formula 1
I love that you have started this thread!
I wanted to start a motor racing thread a couple of years ago but decided based on all the negative comments about NASCAR and motor racing by others on this board that it would not be worth the effort.
I used to follow F-1 fairly closely in the '90s through about 2006. Now I have another cable system that does not have F-1 coverage. Which sucks.
I miss Shumacher too. It's always fun to watch someone so talented do their thing.
Not that it matters, I raced motorcycles for 12 years. Road racing, Observed Trials, Enduros, and a little Motocross.
Physical speed is one of my two favorite sensations.

Re: Formula 1
Nico Rosberg won his 1st GP race and the Merc is definitely putting on a show after bad stints on the 1st couple races. I so wish Michael's car just wouldn't have so many issues.
The McLaren cars of Jenson and Hamilton look really good. RBR and Ferrari are not there yet for some reason.
but the lap where Kimi was in 2nd place and in 2 laps he went down to 12th that was total badluck for the Finn. he strategized on 2 pitstop and his tyres were shot...
lets what Bahrain has for us.. i can see Schumi on the podium...

Re: Formula 1
Sebastien Vettel comes thru in the Bahrain GP. even though it was risky decission by FIA to keep a race in that country. oh well. good to see Kimi and Grosjean on the podium. wonder if Schumi will get his chance this year.
2 more weeks until the next race.

Re: Formula 1
I watch F1! The races are really exciting this year? don't you agree? You never know who will win! Often someone gets the first place who you haven't even heard of. this is kind of funny!

Re: Formula 1
This might be a dumb question, what is the difference between IndyCar racing and F1?

well they both are open wheel, but there is a huge difference, esp on car structure, Indy has followed the same car structure for i dont know how long.
F1 has a lot of rule changes, like KERS, or DRS system this year, no refuelling the last 2 years.
and F1 goes around the globe. something very unique.
you have to watch it
btw Vettel had the race in the bag but car blew up alternator and he had a DFA.
happy to see my man Michael Schumacher on the podium
