And they already had a capable back up in Chester Taylor too. Not sure what the Ravens were going for with that one.

No they don't. Chester Taylor is an unrestricted FA.

Re: NFL Offseason Thread
i like what the redskins have done so far. They've vastly overpaid for guys, but there team should look good next year. Adding, Archuleta, Carter, Randle El, Fauria and trading for Lloyd should help them offensively and defensively

Boston Globe--
Quote:
Receiver David Givens' visit to the Titans will be extended into Tuesday, according to his agent, Brad Blank.
Givens was scheduled to tour Nashville on Monday night to get a feel for the city. Blank said the plan was for he and Givens to reconvene Tuesday morning to discuss his contract options.
Givens visited the Dolphins on Saturday and the Texans on Sunday. The Titans and Texans have already made contract offers. New England Cable News reported on Sunday night that the Patriots have also made an offer.
The Dolphins are reportedly dropping out of the bidding.

Re: NFL Offseason Thread
Yeah, I've always liked Randel El, and he should be a good compliment to their receiving corps.

Re: NFL Offseason Thread
The Redskins spend 120 million on 4 players ... 120 ..... on 4 players. The best part is that they're still not even close to being better than the Seahawks. Good thing we got that new Salary Cap so the Redskins could go 60 million over it again.

Re: NFL Offseason Thread
The Titans and David Givens have agreed on money (5 years/$24.5 million), we should be hearing an official announcement soon.

The Patriots' sought after free agent wide receivers were Jurevicis (signed with Browns) and Brian Finneran (resigned with Falcons). So your guess is as good as mine when they will start being active with the extra $17 million under the cap, and what the receiving corps will be. Branch & Johnson are only WRs locked for next season, Troy Brown is leaning toward coming back. I heard on WEEI the Pats are looking to talk to TE Jeb Putzier from the Broncos

Re: NFL Offseason Thread
The pats have fallen asleep at the wheel this free agent season. They have underestimated the market completely.

Vikings trade Daunte Culpepper to the Dolphins for a second round pick according to Len Pasquarelli at Espn.com.

Re: NFL Offseason Thread
Along with signing Givens the Titans have also signed center Kevin Mawae who visited the Patriots recently. The Pats better wake up soon or they won't find anymore good players in free agency.

Re: NFL Offseason Thread
Belichick better get off his ass and get some players in here and sign both Vinateri and McGinest before they get offers from other teams.
