Re: Deion Branch can seek a trade
If Ben Watson's your best option when it comes to the passing game you'll be screwed eventually against teams with athletic LB's. Look what he did against Denver in 2005 -- one catch for 6 yards in two games.
I also think some of you guys are putting a little too much stock into the preseason.

Pats running game will open up the passing game. They can use Dillon, Maroney and Faulk to shove down the defense's throat.

If only it were that simple, eh?
The Patriots were in the bottom 3rd of the league in rushing last year and averaged 3.4 YPC -- good only in comparison to Arizona's 3.2 YPC. I'm sure there's very few defenses in the league that fear that gameplan, especially if you don't have the WR's to keep defenses honest.

Dillon was hurt for most of the year as was Faulk. That pretty much was the reason they couldn't run the ball. Dillon is healthy, Maroney is a stud in the making and Faulk goes back to his old role. I'm pretty confident that this team will be able to run the ball against anyone.

So essentially, you're basing your entire offenses ability to move the football on a 10th year RB who, last year, showed signs that his body could be breaking down and struggled greatly when he did see action, and an unproven rookie RB who may have been the product of a college system? You think an NFL D coordinator wouldn't be licking his chops when he sees as one-dimensional of an offense as that? If Branch doesn't come back, I can't wait till week 3 because my Broncos defense shut down your Patriots offense when you had a WR.

I'll take my chances with Jake Plummer away from Mile High and in a hostile Gillette Stadium. I would say the Pats running game is in a hell of alot better shape than Denver's.

That statement shows so much ignorance it's not even funny.
The Broncos system has had two fullback's (Mike Anderson and Ruben Droughns) rush for 1,000+ yards. Our backup RB had a chance, in week 17 of last year, to make the Broncos only the third (?) team with two 1,000 yard running backs. That same backup RB lead the league in Yards Per Carry (that same backup RB returns). The Broncos have also plugged a 6th round draft pick into their system and saw him have one of the best seasons any RB has ever had.
Add to that the fact the best rushing team in the League last year, Atlanta, did so under the guidance of Denver's old offensive line coach and one of the minds behind Denver's system.
In the last 3 years (possibly more) the Broncos haven't fallen out of the top 4 teams in the League in rushing and have done so behind three different names -- two of them being converted FB's.
And when you play in Arrowhead every year, I'm sure there's not many stadiums in the league that scare you.

Re: Deion Branch can seek a trade
jake plummer will never win a big game
his defense and our mental breakdowns beat us last year
plummer had nothing to do with it
denvers running game and blocking schemes have been outstanding for 10 years now
they do have a method and it is successful
that being said
maroney is a good back and dillon is 100%
i like our teams running game better....however its august

Re: Deion Branch can seek a trade
at the thought of our running game being better than Denver's. That Denver O-Line is something to be afraid of. They can bring in no name RBs and make them into stars. I doubt Mike Anderson does anything good when he's given the playing time over in Baltimore.

HAHAHA don't talk about football please. You clearly know nothing if you're juding how the season will go based on the preseason.

Dillon is done. He wasn't hurt last year. He hit the age where almost all NFL RBs start to fall off. HE'S DONE.

We will see. I'll take him and Maroney than that scrap heap scrub Willie Parker.

Maroney won't be playing second string defenses once the regular season starts. Ten years in the league, particularly after the beating he took in Cinci... MC Hammer's right. Back to Maroney... Don't take the preseason so seriously, guys. You don't see me jumping on the Cedrick Cobbs bandwagon.

Yeah that scrap heap that set Super Bowl records while Maroney was running against subpar defenses in college.
