Re: Deion Branch traded to Seahawks
No one player is bigger than the team. I want to see what this team is like with a healthy Doug Gabriel and Chad Jackson. Good for the Pats for sticking to their guns for a first round pick. Branch is not worth Reggie Wayne money and that is that.

Branch isnt worth Wayne money... but either is Reggie Wayne himself. However if you put Branch in the Colts system, branch would be one of the best statstical WR in the game. With out Deion, Brady is going to struggle like yesterday.

You do realize that Brady lead this team to a Super Bowl win in 2001 with Fred Coleman and other scrubs as his receivers. Granted Troy Brown was there but they can still win without Branch.

Re: Deion Branch traded to Seahawks
deion branch is better than reggie wayne
we let givens go
we let the other guy go to dc last season
deion is 1 of the top 10 wideouts in football and a big game player
good luck tom
im sure hes as fucking thrilled as the rest of us who dont polish the front office knobs
are jon jon bob and myra donating the 13M under the cap back to the season tix holders??
are they gonna stop the $7.50 additional ""handling fee"" per tix they charge 69,000 season tix holders 10xs a year??
outrageous
now they can scour practice squads, bar rooms and prisons to find brady someone to throw to.....reche caldwell and troy brown??
are you shitting me??
13M under the cap and this is what they come up with??
good
good job boys
did theo epstein and jon jon kraft go to the same kibbutz??

Thats the key term when Doug Gabriel & Chad Jackson are healthy. Ben Watson should become the top receiver this season for Brady.

Well, if history holds true and it carries over to this season (which is unlikely with the experience and talent that the Seahawks have), no Superbowl losers have put up a .500 season the year after. It's true for the 2001 Giants, 2002 Rams, 2003 Raiders, 2004 Panthers, and 2005 Eagles.
This could be true for the 2006 Seahawks. The last team to put up a .500 season or better after losing the year before was the 2000 Tennessee Titans after losing to the Rams in the superbowl and putting up a 13-3 record the following season.

Re: Deion Branch traded to Seahawks
am i the only one who isn't extremely disappointed? brown, jackson, caldwell, watson, and graham are, while not like branch, but are 100% completely capable. and if our running game can hold up like it did vs. buffalo we won't really need to depend on the passing game like we did last year.
all i can say is hopefully we get a WR with that pick.

Re: Deion Branch traded to Seahawks
You forgot Gabriel. If he was able to receive 500+ yards last year behind Porter and Moss with KERRY COLLINS throwing to him, I'm not too concerned.
We have 2 first rounders next offseason. I would love a linebacker and a wide receiver.

Re: Deion Branch traded to Seahawks
i'd say seattle's FO got a little desperate or antsy after watching that game yesterday. While we cannot really say we are content, I think people make too big a deal out of Deion Branch, it does not decimate this unit. Watson will be the breakout player of the year

Re: Deion Branch traded to Seahawks
watson is a tremendous athlete who will have big #s but without a deep threat the safetys play closer to the line and the zones get smaller as do the seams
the linebackers can play run run run and the corners can handle who ever we have on the outside 1-1
branch needed to be doubled
troy brown doesnt
bradys field just got shorter
