Jed Lowrie was considered a future Major League regular when he was signed out of Stanford U. a couple of years back and showed good form in the summer of 2005. He had a crappy year last year which might have set him back a spell, but talent always come to the fore. Now it is time for the Red Sox to make sure they play him in the right place. We don't need him at second base if that is where he is playing. Get him to short or third, preferably short and we can see him at Fenway Park in 2009 or 2010 at the latest when Lugo is about to depart the scene.

Jed Lowrie was considered a real comer when we drafted him out of Stanford U. in June of 2005 and he has a good rookie half-season. He sort of drifted backwards last year but is now playing the way the Red Sox envisioned when they drafted him. I think that by 2009he could be the Boston shortstop, especially if Lugo doesn't start coming around soon. There is also a chance that Jed could he fast freighted up to Pawtucket before the summer is over.

If he keeps it up, it will be interesting to see where he is ranked amongst 2B prospects heading into next year.

Lowrie doesn't have the range, hands or arm to be a short stop his future is as a second baseman with the Sox or anywhere else.

If his future is best suited as a 2nd baseman, than he could be good trade bait for the Sox. As long as Pedroia keeps playing the way he has in his career then the job at 2nd is his to keep

this is where the sox will have to make a decision. I think Lowrie has the better hands of the two, but Pedroia is more advanced offensively. But neither are suited to be everyday SS's. One will have to go and I think Pedroia has the job nailed shut thus far.

Jed lowrie made the prospects hot sheet once again. The kid has been on fire this year from Double A to now Triple A. He's been playing more games at 2nd now, where he is best suited. With him knocking at the doors, a trade could happen during the offseason (Mets a possibility with Castillo on contract year?)

Why not just accept Lowrie's deficiency at SS and go with the big bat at a middle of the field position? It's not like that recipe isn't working for several teams right now. Hell, if the Sox go on a run and win a couple of championships, he'll even start to win multiple consecutive gold gloves no matter how bad his D is (Jeter).

might be time for a promotion, see if he can handle it in AAA for the last couple weeks and then put the thought into Lugo's mind by bringing Jed to ST next yr. Maybe it will light a fire under Lugo's ass.
