Re: Jed Lowrie
What position does he play? Firstbase? He sounds good, it's a plus that he can field, can anyone compare him to a Major league player, defense-wise? I do not remember drafting him at all.

Jed Lowrie was a sandwich pick, he plays 2B, and one scout told Peter Gammons that he'd compare him to Adam Kennedy plus a 3rd.
Lowrie homered again tonight, his 2nd.

Re: Jed Lowrie
Another good game for Lowrie:
4 AB, 2 H, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB
That brought his numbers up to .329/.395/.479 in 18 games.

Re: Jed Lowrie
Concerning Jed Lowrie, anyone think its plauisble Sox could resign Loretta (of course if he has productive year) to the tune of 2 seasons. In essence to bridge the gap to Lowrie

Re: Jed Lowrie
it all depends on if the red sox move pedroia back to shortstop or not. lowrie did play the majority of his lowell season at shortstop so signing loretta to an extension means that lowrie is switched back to second and pedroia to short.

Re: Jed Lowrie
True but by all accounts I have read recently, the Sox are switching Pedroia back to shortstop. That will be the position he will be penciled in for Triple A. Some have predicted a call up as early as mid-season

I believe he'll probably stay at 2B, but he'll get some playing time at SS in case Gonzalez falters.

Re: Jed Lowrie
Most of the scouting reports I've read question Dustin's arm strength, so with Lowrie having the stronger arm and good range, he seems like the better choice for SS.

Re: Jed Lowrie
From my Knowledge he is going to start the year I believe in Wilmington not Portland but I believe he will be in Portland at sometime in 2006.
