As to the other part, stop articulating from your sphincter. He's certainly as far along as Hughes in terms of stuff. In fact he's beyond. He throws for greater velocity and he already has what scouts call two ++ pitches in his curve and his change. Sure, he's older than Hughes was at AA, but he's actually been pitching less time than Hughes. Buchholz is a two way player from JC converted into a pitcher. Before he transfered to JC, he was an outfielder for a D-I school.

Like it or not, Buchholz might just be better than Hughes.
Just like Lester was and all the others. LOL. We'll see.

Laugh all you want. I'm just saying it's a possibility. I expect nothing, like you guys with the "Phranchise". Yeah, we will see. What I find comforting is that we have two mid-20's pitchers that are emerging studs, and when/if Buchholz/Bowden/Lester make the rotation and pan out, it's just gravy. Hughes will be your first, if it's more of game 2 and less of game 1.

Sure thing, as soon as you recognize those peripherals have never lead to sustained success.

Guys can have career years. His lack of K's, more balls put in play, doesnt mean a good deal that he will see 2006 like stats for the rest of his career

First off, why the hell is everyone talking about Lester in the past tense? SO THE GUY CAME UP AND WASN'T KOUFAX!!! JESUS. He is 23. Twenty-fucking-three. He still has all the upside in the world and still has a 93 mph fastball and a 70 mph curve with nast movement. Everyone who talks about lester in the past tense is a fucking moron.

Secondly, Bucholz has what scouts call a plus fastball. Good life, 92-94 late last season he was SITTING at 96. The guy has a ripe arm with a lot of upside. Now, thats not even his best pitch, ++ curve and change and a + slider to go along. On any given night he throws all of those pitches with good command and has "ice water running through his veins"

I think Bucholz is a big deal. Took a perfect game into the 8th a couple weeks back, and misses bats like its his job (it kinda is and hes good at it)

Bucholz, Bowden, Lester, Papelbon and Pedroia > Wang, Hughes, Cano and Melky by ALOT

Trevor Hoffman finished 2nd in the NL Cy Young last year. Is he a stud? Is he even close to the 2nd best pitcher in the NL? 2nd best reliever? noope. nope and no.

Wang had a good year for a good team. Therefore his W's looked really good and he looked better than he was. He doesn't make people miss, THAT is his biggest problem.

Wang is an unknown at this point. He had one good season(06), he was hurt in 05, and started out hurt this season. Mark Prior had one good year and we saw were that went. he needs to proove he can stay healthy and make more batters miss. Like its been said, last year his peripherals would lead you to believe he wouldn't beable to sustain his success. He had the nice perfect going, but got shlacked against a mediocre Rangers team. Wang needs to show hes a stud over a few year period, not just one season. But this goes for any pitcher as well.

How do you know how far along he is? Do you watch all his games and evaluate his "stuff"?

The kid is fucking money. How bright it is to see in the future for us to possibly someday see a rotation of Beckett, Matsuzaka, Bucholz, Lester, Bowden (no particular order)

6 starts (1-1, 1.98 ERA)
34 innings, 22 Hits, 8 Runs (7 ER), 3 HRs, 4 Walks, 46 Ks

The kid is fucking money, he's dominated at each promotion he has gotten. Pace he's at we could be talking about him in the rotation to start off the 2008 season

You don't really believe that Dustin Pedroia should be included with those elite players/prospects, do you?
