he is 17 yrs old so I would expect him to open in rookie ball with our Gulf Coast League in Fort Myers. the Lowell affliate is usually for new draft picks that come out of college as it is the short season A-ball.

Yea that makes sense...happens all the time in the majors. Always see pitchers beam rookies when they first get there in hopes they can end there career before it gets started. Why take a fairly easy out from the new guy when you could hurt him. Good post. |

It was a joke, and it isn't any worse than the calls to bean Matsui during the 2004 series when he was batting like .400 against the Sox in games 1-3.
And plenty of rookies get dusted btw. |
