Default Official Willy Mota Thread

Willy is the man. He played on the Spinners last year. He has a good arm from RF and probably won't amount to anything but the ladies love him down in Lowell and it would be quite an accomplishment if he could make it to Pawtucket or maybe an MLB team elsewhere. Go Willy!

Scaffolds your the Best and Bosox great positive comments. As many may not realize is that Willy really injured his leg last year causing him to be out for the whole season. His leg is now 100% and Luckily his Arm is Great. He has since been converted to a pitcher and although many get interviewed for being converted, Willy has not. It is not understood why since this is the first time that he has played this position. I'm sure the transition will not be smooth but I hope to read more in the future. At current he has no problem throwing 95mph he just needs to maintain ball control. Keep us posted.

Mota is having a good, not great first year in Lowell as a pitcher, a relief pitcher in all of his games 12G 1 SV 18 2/3 IP 16 H (2HR) 11 BB 14 K 2-3 record 3.86 ERA and 229 Ave against. There isn't a question about the quality of arm Mota has (mid 90's) but he needs a off speed pitch and to bring douwn the # of bases on balls.
