Re: Ryan Phillips
Crespo, since I take it you're a ladies man, be advised that Ryan has a very attractive young wife. A gorgeous girl. I met her on the golf course at Fort Myers the last week of spring training and I was so impressed with her demeanor that I shanked a shot on the third tee of a very doable 155 yard Par three. Wound up double bogeying it. What does that have to do with pitching? That's my point. It doesn't have diddly shit to do with it. If he can do the job fine; if not, well we don't need him to gum up the works as some of the others have done up here. I have heard, however, that he rates a little higher than you have stated.

I've rated him as a middle relief guy. What's wrong with that? How many players actually end up in the majors anyway? This guy has serious control problems, so bad he makes Jon Lester look like David Wells.
37 Walks
I'll rate him higher, when he isn't walking 4.5 batters per nine innings.

Re: Ryan Phillips
Oh...shit...I thought this post was about Ryan Phillipe. Nevermind, I've got nothing to say about this other fella.

Re: Ryan Phillips
Crespo, middle relief? Well it seems like we have a lot of guys already who seem more attuned to middle relief like Gabbard and Snyder. Unfortunately, we are using them as starters and they suck to high heaven. Nothing wrong with your assessment of middle relief but if that is the best we can do, maybe we should start thinking of Bucholz and that other young stud we signed a year ago and whose name escapes me right now.
