Don't get me wrong, I'll pull for Phillips as hard as I can, so we can see his wife 162 games per year. (Seriously, if Phillips throws strikes, he can be a number three)

Anyway, I think you're thinking of Michael Bowden.

Crespo, have you noticed that our lefthanders all seem to throw either sidearm or close to it, even Lester. What the hell is with that. A good lefthander with a fastball should be throwing overhand or three quarters, but, then again, DiNardo, Gabbard, and some of the others we've used this year are journeymen so maybe we see one of two of our prospects come up and smoke some gas at the hitters. Phillips is considered a real nice guy and I hope he makes it, but sentiment aside, I don't want 2004 to become an even more distant memory than it's becoming. Either we rebuild or reload. If we do the latter we must be willing to spend the money for the right people and not some of those mediocrities we've been signing the last two off seasons. Agreed?

Lester does not throw even close to sidearm. What game are you watching?

Yeah too bad Randy Johnson didn't throw over the top during his prime ...

Hammer, you know Randy is one of a kind. A guy who can throw over 100 MPH can throw anyway he wants. Does that sound like Alvarez, DiNardo or Gabbard to you?

Bowden!!!!! That's the guy. The "B" Boys, Bucholz and Bowden. I keep hearing how good they are; I heard the same for Lester so I hope he straightens himself out.

I was watching Lester very closely last Wednesday in Anaheim and he was dropping down a good deal of the time. Perhaps he was hurting but he was not coming over the top on this pitches----not even close.

Its called rookie struggles with Lester and alot of good pitchers go through them. But you are like the rest of idiot red sox nation and just give up on kids after bad performances.

Please don't question me. You said Lester throws sidearm.

How sad is it that the 2 of us are agreeing this much?

Goes to show how many fake fans there are on this board.

You just like to defend a kid with this "rookie struggles" shit to make an excuse for why he's sucking. We understand he's a rookie, we understand he's going to struggle, but that doesn't change the fact that he's sucking right now. Very little people have given up.

So what if he is sucking. He is 22 years old. Its not like he is the only player on this team sucking. He is homegrown and that is why I will give him a break. This season is over and its not because Jon Lester sucked. Its a combination of many things. The fact that he gutted out 5 freaking innings with his bad back in Anaheim showed me alot.

What board are you looking at. I can count the amount of people on this board that haven't given up on less than 1 hand.

Relax Hammer, I was not questioning you. Randy throws an atomic ball so he can throw anyway he wants. When I saw Lester last Wednesday in Anaheim he was dropping down and throwing what seemed to me to be something very close to sidearm.

Do you think that had anything to do with his hurt back? The guy gutted out 5 innings on a hurt back. Whenever I have seen him he never threw anything close to sidearm.
