Default Wilmington Blue Rocks cut ties with Boston

Boston is now looking at trying to sign up with the Frederick team or face the possibility of playing the california league something this organization likely does not want to do.

It did have to do with winning in my mind. Wilmington was not too happy with the red sox in 2005 as the Blue Rocks were the worst in the league.

Was the contract up? They're getting some good pitchers this year, or whoever the A team is now.

It was a 2 year contract that ended this year and they decided to go back with the royals.

Oh my god, I think you're the first person in history to ever say that!

Actually, with the Royal's consistently high draft picks I can see why their minor league teams could be fun to watch.

Off topic, but its not worthy of a thread and I imagine jsinger can answer:

How come baseball decided to disallow trading draft picks?

baseball has never allowed the trading of draft picks and likely won't ever.

Why not? It's not that I disagree with that policy, but only that I'm curious as to why...

For likely competative balance reasons.
