Do we have any prospects playing in the Arizona Fall League. This league always produces some good major leaguers. Dan Uggla the most recent.

nevermind, just found out. They play for the Peoria Javelinas, along with some other big prospects like Jarrod Saltamacchia of the Braves, Chad Spann, others

Lenny Dinardo is on the team too. The Javelins won today 17-15 and Ellsbury went 1-4 with an RBI in the game too. The team is now 2-2. Does anyone know where George Kottaras is going to play next year hes a prospect im very much intersted in and going to be watching and I hope to see him playing for the Red Sox in the big leagues soon.

Dave Pauley started yesterday and only gave up a run, but the Javelina's dropped the game to Grand Canyon 4-2. Pauley's line: 4IP | 1RA | 1K | 3BBs | 6H

Pauley appeared to be helped out by a couple double plays. So, on the one hand, he had trouble commanding the strike zone and was pretty hittable, but on the other hand he kept his head and made some pitches he had to. Overall, an improvement in his AFL season.

Ellsbury went 1-3 with a BB and an SB. Brown 0-4 but threw a player out CS at 2nd.

Three bases on balls is too many in four innings, specially for a pitcher like Pauley, that doesn't have room for a mistake.

I agree Scaff. Pauley seems to have regressed since his time with the big club. The fact that this was his best outing in the AFL is not really cause for celebration. I wonder if he's just worn down.

Bosox; Pauley doesn't project any better than a #5 in a ML starters rotation, with a very slim chance to be a #4, i like Gabbard better and expect the Sox not to protect Pauley this Winter, there is really very slim chance that the Sox would loose him in the rule 5 draft.

Pauley is already on the 40 man roster thus he doesn't need to be protected unless they take him off.

Pauley has been shaky in the AFL. He hasn't had great command and he seems like he has no confidence or something. The way he is pitching right now, he's going to be spending alot more time in the minors.

Former first-round pick Jacoby Ellsbury has gotten off on the right foot in the Arizona Fall League.

Ellsbury boasted a nine-game hitting streak after hitting safely in all but one game this season. He was held hitless in the Arizona Fall League opener Oct. 10.

The 23-year-old center fielder has been especially hot of late, going 7-for-12 with two runs scored and an RBI in a three-game span. He is batting .318 with two RBIs, seven runs scored and four stolen bases in 10 games.

On Monday, Ellsbury was selected to play in the inaugural Rising Stars Showcase game. The game will be played Friday at Surprise Stadium.

West Oahu CaneFires

LHP Ryan Phillips -- Phillips has not appeared in a Hawaii Winter League game since his Oct. 10 start against Waikiki. He tossed four hitless innings in his first two starts. The 22-year-old fanned seven and walked two over four innings.

C John Otness -- The 25-year-old hit safely in four straight games for a .259 average. Despite the streak, Otness has not driven in a run since his three-RBI day on Oct. 10. He has five runs scored and three RBIs in eight games.

LF Jeff Corsaletti -- The Tallahassee native remained mired in a deep slump. The former sixth-round pick went hitless over eight at-bats and his average fell to .071 (2-for-28). The 23-year-old has seven runs scored and two RBIs in nine games.

Peoria Javelinas

LHP Lenny DiNardo -- The 27-year-old did not yield a run in his last two outings. The Miami native struck out one in a perfect inning on Oct. 18 against Phoenix, and he tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings against the Saguaros on Saturday. He has a 4.26 ERA with seven strikeouts and three walks in four games. On Monday, DiNardo was selected to play in the inaugural Rising Stars Showcase. The game will be played Friday at Surprise Stadium.

RHP Barry Hertzler -- The 25-year-old reliever bounced back with two solid performances after surrendering five runs in 1 1/3 innings Oct. 17. The Providence native struck out three in a perfect inning against Phoenix on Oct. 19. He fanned one and walked one in two scoreless innings against the Saguaros on Saturday. Hertzler is 1-0 with a 5.87 ERA in five games.

RHP Kyle Jackson -- The 23-year-old reliever continued his strong start to the season with 1 1/3 scoreless innings against Scottsdale on Oct. 20. But he did struggle in his last appearance Tuesday. Jackson allowed four runs on three hits and a walk in one inning in a 12-6 loss to Scottsdale. He is 2-0 with a 6.14 ERA in five games.

RHP David Pauley -- The 23-year-old made his third start Monday. He allowed one run on six hits over four innings. The 6-foot-2 righty struck out one and walked three, but did not factor in the decision. Pauley is 0-1 with a 7.36 ERA.

C Dustin Brown -- The 24-year-old is 6-for-17 with an RBI in his last five games after making two starts in the first week of the season. He is batting .250 with an RBI and three runs scored.

3B Chad Spann -- The 23-year-old has cooled off at the plate after opening the AFL on fire. He went 3-for-15 with a solo homer over a four-game span. The former fifth-round pick batted .353 with a home run, eight RBIs and five runs scored in eight games.

I think we will see Ellsbury in the middle of next season sometime, if not before that.

Let Ellsbury get his Triple A seasoning before thorwing him out into the big leagues. No doubt there's a very good chance of him being the starting center fielder in 08

I agree, but lets say if Crisp is struggling, and Ellsbury is lighting it up there is a chance we will see him next year.
