Re: 2007 Projected Sox's minor league rosters
While I don't have nearly the grasp to project every position, I was expecting Bard to make his professional debut in this league. I'm guessing you left him off because you believe he starts in Greenville, is this true? Is that also where you believe Doubront starts the season?

I don't know personally, but I do know that a rotation of Bowden, Masterson and Bard would be pretty nasty if they pitch together.

I don't think the Sox want to start Bard off in the California League. My guess is he will pitch the first month or 2 in the SAL for Greenville then move up.

Re: 2007 Projected Sox's minor league rosters
That is an absolutely terrifying lineup on paper. Scaff, I really like Khoury's makeup. Is he settling into "Utility or Bust" territory already, or he just behind Negron in the pecking order?

Re: 2007 Projected Sox's minor league rosters
Bosox; Khoury is more of a second baseman than a SS, but he doesn't project any more than an utily player.

Re: 2007 Projected Sox's minor league rosters
Yikes, Portland.....with the exception of Cox and Buchholz that lineup features a lot of tweeners and longshots, at this point. I'd think it's do or die time for Bladergroen and Pinckney, wouldn't you say? Neither of them lit it up last year in Wilmington.
For myself, I'm hope to be pleasantly surprised by the middle IF, and to continue to be surprised by Jay Johnson. He really came strong last year - I wonder if he's a guy with sneaky late power. Seems to have an advanced approach.

Re: 2007 Projected Sox's minor league rosters
Yeah, the MIF is intriguing. I'd like to see Lowrie bounce back after a disappointing year that included some injury time. Natale can handle the wood, but I hope he makes serious strides with the glove.

Re: 2007 Projected Sox's minor league rosters
Portland's talent its the weaker link in the system, however there some player that may finally put it all together like Bladergroen, Arias and Pinkney. Lowrie again will play out of position as his future its second base, but because of Natale he will remain at SS for now. The pitching beisides top prospects Buckholz and Cox it has some holes, but let see how Hottovy, Bobies and Goodson handles pitching in AA and Vaquedano out of the pen where his sinker may work better than as a starter.

Re: 2007 Projected Sox's minor league rosters
I just recentley read at Baseball America that a scout isn't worried about Lowrie's down year. He still thinks Lowrie has more upside then Pedroia. I'm gonna have to disagree with him there (about the Pedroia thing), but I wouldn't be shocked to see Lowrie have a big rebound year next year.

Re: 2007 Projected Sox's minor league rosters
I think Lowrie could have a big year as well and they may start him in Lancaster to build his confidence back up in the hitter friendly California League.
