At times he did not pitch that bad for us. I bet if you determined his stats through the first 4 innings alone of all the games he pitched....you may be suprised. As a long reliever (something you don't use often anyways) he may be a hidden gem.

Re: Devern Hansack
In innings 1-3, he had an opponents OPS of .991. In innings 4-6, the opponents OPS was actually slightly lower at .949.

Re: Devern Hansack
Snyder is one of those guys who always has one bad inning, against teh A's he was great until I believe the 5th inning, where he gave up 5 runs. I agree with SchillNatural, he could be a diamond in the rough as a long reliver so to speak. Much like Arroyo in the 03 playoffs (came in for Burkett or w/e his name was) and shut down the Yanks to keep the series goin.

Re: Devern Hansack
Did you see what I posted? He had a OPS against of greater than .950. You could win an MVP with a .950OPS. The guy is terrible.

Re: Devern Hansack
I don't know why people are defending this guy, there's a reason he was cut by the Royals.

I hear this argument a lot for different players but I think the team has to make their own judgements not based on his past transactions. UNC could have said the same thing about Michael Jordan and he would've never become what he did. The Pistons could've considered the fact that Ben Wallace had a history of being cut and he would've never been one of the most prominent centers in the game. You can't base your opinion off the fact that he was cut.

no, but there is a reason why a former first round pick was cut by the worst team in baseball after getting a significant major league chance.

Michael Jordan was cut from his high school team because he was small. He grew four inches the following year, and was immediately added to the basketball roster. The circumstances are so entirely different, that it's laughable you bring it up. Kyle Snyder has peaked, Jordan and Wallace didn't.
Kyle Snyder wasn't good enough for the Royals, why would he be good enough for the Red Sox? The only place I can forsee him pitching at next year is Pawtucket.

I'm blacked out from watching this game. Anyone have any clue why I would be blacked out in Oregon?

Re: Devern Hansack
Ed Rogers is not a bad ball player. He gets no press at all, but he does everything right. He's a very polished player.

Re: Devern Hansack
Ellsbury got thrown out on a bang bang play by the SS. He's very fast down the line, but not
Ichiro fast.
