f***ing guy breaks his wrist diving for a ball

THEN HE APOLOGIZES TO HIS TEAMMATES??

this is what we call honor and commitment my friends

think sheff or arod would apologize??

or manny for that matter??

Sheff wouldn't dive for the ball in the first place, so it would never come to that.

1050 ESPN radio just reported that Mo is having a MRI on his inflamed right elbow today. Uh oh.

He has had that problem before. It made you wonder why Torre would say thing like "I wont use Rivera for 2 innings anymore" and he very quickly ruled Rivera out of the 2nd game of the DH.

Hopefully they have the results of the MRI on the pregame today.

I was reading a story regarding it on NYYFANS.com and it didnt sound that serious. However inflamation isnt going to get better if he keeps pitching through it. The sooner we clinch the better so Rivera, Proctor and Villone can rest up for the playoffs. Torre really needs to start using guys like Dotel and even Brian Bruney more.

Not to be greedy, considering the Yankees have pretty much won the division, but it would be really, really nice to clinch early. I understand that the Red Sox really seem to be going down the drain, but soon we may be looking at a different second place team. The Blue Jays are close to the Red Sox, and if they pass them, I wonder if that would be a good thing or a bad thing for the Yankees. They don't have the same amount of injuries as the Red Sox, and it may take longer to clinch, meaning that they may not be able to rest players as they would surely like to.

The Sox are about to trade David Wells which means even their front office thinks its over. As for the Blue Jays they prob are better then the Red Sox at this point and I wouldnt be suprised after this weekend if they passed the Red Sox. The bottomline is the sooner we clinch the better.

Completely agree, by the way, in other news, I just read on another site that Joe is considering starting Villone on Sunday. Is it just me or does that make absolutely no sense. That is past the callup date and I'm sure there is some AAA starter that could start that game. Joe, who seems to have decided to rest up a lot of his players, especially his bullpen, would really be contradicting himself if he were to start Villone. Remember last year when he started Sturtze on July 4th against the Orioles? It basically ended his effectiveness. And I remember Proctor starting a game in August against the Rangers, but I'm not sure how he faired afterwards. Taking middle relievers and starting them is just not a good idea in my opinion, especially in September when you have so many people to chose from.

It doesnt make much sense to start him. Find a starter from the minors thats on the 40 man roster and start him. Darrell Rasner is rehabing from a strained shoulder. I wonder if hes close to coming back because he would be a good person to start. Thank god Mussina is coming back in Kansas City.

it would be nothing short of tragic if riveras elbow is frayed and he cant make it in october

you need to wonder about using him for 2 innings in 11-5 games

tragic for sure

Maybe the guy is a bit disgruntled as a result of knownig his "guy" isn't the best shortstop on his own team? :dunno:
This year his "guy" has been better.

That's too bad...not! Just as amazing as Mo's record is the fact that he has stayed healthy for so long despite Torre's compulsion to use him so much. I will not be sorry to see him go when he finally goes.

Anyone notice some of the ridiculous facial hair some of the Yankee players have/had going recently? Damon had that disgusting mustache a week back or so; as did Posada. Bruney's look's terrible and Giambi's also looks bad. What the hell is up with that?

lol. just something that had crossed my mind. figured I would share.

Inm other news, with the expanding rosters the Yankees called up Wil Nieves; who was on the opening day roster but got sent down before getting any action, T.J. Beam, and Jose Veras. Beam and Veras have been impressive in their most recent stints, so their additions will be certainly welcomed. As for Nieves, I am a Nieves fan, and am glad to see him on the roster. Another guy who I hope gets called up, but probably won't be, is Koyie Hill. He was on the roster on two different occasions and still hadn't gotten any action. Aside from him, I wouldn't mind Smalley coming back up if they can find the room on the 40 man roster with some of the 60 day DL guys possibly coming back.

Yankke Stadium is empty today. Your team is comfortably in first place on a long Labor Day weekend, playing a playoff contender and the place is empty. Yankee fans are such a bunch of delicate little wussies.

Might be because of the driving rain/55-60 degree temp, and the fact we're up 8 games. Dunno, just guessing.

... ro it might be because Yankee fans are delicate little wussies afraid of melting in the rain.

Hill broke an ankle and will miss the season.

Let me put it this way, if I could go to a loss in the rain, I sure as hell would, I really have no idea what that means really for saying, but, thats my stand.

But I also wanted to throw out there that a lot of Yankee fans expected it to not even be played, and thats why there weren't many fans there, and I really think that if some of them knew, they woulda been sitting there, and that our lead in the division has ultimatly no effect on who shows up, I'd think

I'm still trying to figure out why I should care.

BTW Magic # down to 20 aka Jorge Posada:

I wasn't talking about the conditions. Did you even read your own post? You said "and the fact we're up 8 games", which implies that the reason no one's at the park is because you're up 8 games. Is that not what you meant?

The conditions are mainly why so few people were there, and I bet that fact kept a few borderline people away. Game 7 of the WS, and yeah, they probably go.

As I said, the conditions were the main reason not as many people showed up. You'd have to pay me to go sit out in that ******** for 3 hours. The importance was only minor. If it was a little bit nicer, say not as windy or cold, it'd be a full house.
