Re: Manny Ramirez Trade Deadline Thread (renamed)
manny hit 350 in july for us and now hes facing AAAA pitchers on suck teams rather than the american leagues vastly superior pitching.
joelle piniero is beating people up in the nl,he was cut here
chris carpenter won a cy young in st louis
when he was in toronto he was what we called one of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse along with dave burba joey hamilton and rick helling, every game these guys pitched we bet over and cleaned up most every time...he goes to st louis and wins a cy young?
hillarious
this is reason #1 why manny is pounding the ball

Re: Manny Ramirez Trade Deadline Thread (renamed)
he also pouted enough to have his options dropped so now he can finally play for a new deal in the off-season

Re: Manny Ramirez Trade Deadline Thread (renamed)
Quote:
He's not only made an incredible impact on the Dodgers, getting MVP consideration after only 50 games, but consider what Manny Ramirez has meant to the kids at Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA.
When he arrived, he agreed to pledge so much money for home runs, RBIs and hits, asking the Dodgers to take the money out of his paychecks -- more than $36,000 already going to the kids at the cancer ward.
That makes more than $70,000 for Mattel's with Steve Soboroff agreeing earlier to match Ramirez's donation.
"Thanks to Manny," Soboroff e-mailed, "I had to take a night job."
Ramirez met with a group of kids from Mattel's a few days ago and received a painting by Ashanti, one of the youngsters who has been contending with cancer.
It now hangs prominently in his locker.

Nice to see the cockbag pretending he cares about doing charity work now that he's set to become a free agent.

Re: Manny Ramirez Trade Deadline Thread (renamed)
Yeah, Manny is quite transparent. He is the best pure-hitter I have seen in my lifetime and I really do miss his bat in the Sox lineup....but I am looking forward to upcoming years without Manny's belly-aching.

No defense of not seeing wounded troops?
Stay blind with your Manny bias...

Ok have many of us?
Maybe he was an asshole then ok rip him for that. Don't rip him when he's doing something positive.
Edit: Seriously he's gone. Move on and get over hating him. It's done and over, we got what we needed from him.

yea, he doesnt play here but Manny in Boston was:
- not running out grounders
- faking injuries to not play
- ditching Walter Reed
- wants to be traded every off season
Manny in LA is:
- stealing bases (what tendonitis?)
- turning down days off cause hes a "gamer"
- pretending he cares about charity work
- wants to finish his career in LA
Boston bent over backwards giving him a massive contract plus two options years just so he could tell his buddies he's the second $200 million man in baseball history and then does everything possible to shit on the organization while he's here
fuck him now that hes putting on the "professional" act so he can get his $100 million/4 year deal and you know some GM will fall for it

I'm not just saying this, but I've really kind of forgotten about Manny. Look forward to watching him play in the playoffs though.

The entire team, except for two individuals, went to see them. Manny was one of them. Add in all of his other transgressions...well, there you go.
I loved Manny as a hitter. He was a fun guy to watch hit.
Everything else, not so much.

WAS.
Exactly. Was. I had an issue with that when he was here, but he's gone now, so why should i sit and bitch about it? I'm still a fan of his, but i'm not a fan of the fucked up shit he did, but I moved passed it. I'm not gonna sit here and dwell about how he didn't run out ground balls or visit a bunch of veterns. Jesus Christ if I gave that much of a fuck I would end up shooting my head off.

Re: Manny Ramirez Trade Deadline Thread (renamed)
No one is taking it that seriously, I'm almost positive.
It's an honest question and sparks some lively discussion.

Because Manny was an asshole in addition to not going.
