And Fred's whole posts was " what ifs." Maybe he needs to worry less about clothing and more on if he needs new glasses.

The queston hasn't been answered because lame attempt to defend the front office (again) would be totally assinine. You don't go from WS Champions to cellear dwellers and become one of the three or four worst teams in baseball because your front office is doing all the right things. You go there because the front office has made a ton of mistakes over those five years. I also know that your idea of blabbing nonsense is when anyone attacks your beloved heroes in the front office. You just can't help yourself; even when your give one of your yearly criticisms of something they do, you throw them a parachute.
Why not just come out and admit you're a ball washer and automaton for the front office. I haven't heard you once give them a going over for one thing they've done wrong without qualifying it with nonsense of a defense of them.

Well here's one that is not a "what if". In 2007 we won the WS; in 2012 we were dead last in the division with a miserable 69-93 record. How did we get there, by sound moves, good trades, and and effective front office? Maybe if some of those "what ifs" you keep harping on had come to fruition we wouldn't be in the toilet right now.
The only thing that I wonder about between you and your compadre UN is which one of you takes on the role of Don Quixote and who is Sergo Panza. So tell me, how the hell did we go from first to dead last in five seasons? Maybe by osmosis???

Re: Should Kalish make the team next year?
How did we get there? Do you need a spin free history lesson?
2008 - came just shy of going to WS
2009 - get rocked by the Angels in postseason
2010 - sign Lackey, numerous injuries destroy the season
2011 - sign CC, trade for AGon, on pace to have great season, epic swoon in September, miss playoffs by 1 game
2012 - hire BV a move you liked (ensuring the team would blow up), team dislikes manager who is more concerned with the media than winning games, team in turmoil and playing .500 baseball, team is gutted by trade with LA, Sox have AAAA roster to end the season
Are they one of the 4 worst teams in MLB? No f'n way. At this moment, they're rebuilding and still are a 85ish win team.
If you enjoy being miserable with your fandom, you should have become a Pirates fan. Those Bucs have a nice little stadium too, you know...

Re: Should Kalish make the team next year?
I'm sure the bucs have enough ballwashers but not enough whiny little bitches, so Fred should cover that area all by himself.

So "ballwashers" from your previous post wasn't personal? Don't call people names and people probably won't call you one back. With you it's always "pollyannas, ballwashers, etc." but the second someone uses a term you don't like, it all of a sudden is a personal attack... If you don't see the hypocrisy in that, then I really don't know what to say. If you toned down your rhetoric, people might actually try to understand your point of view. However, with the way you act now, why would anyone ever take you seriously?

In this recent exchange between SBF and UN, UN lobbed the first personal attack telling Fred that he was blabbering. I am sorry but UN doesn't get to operate with impunity. If he makes it personal, he should expect return fire. Why don't you ever call out UN? Be fair about it if you are going to call out people. UN is constantly offending people without provocation, but you let him off the hook because you like his targets. Lay off Fred unless you are willing to go after UN too.

When was the last time an overly specific analogy led to a cogent point?

They never finished last with a 170 million dollar payroll, but they haven't done anything in the past 3 years so it doesn't matter. Last time they were in last place was 1999 and had the Mariners not have been in that division, it would have been a lot earlier. They spent a lot of money and haven't gone anywhere. The Sox gave up on the season and finished only like 4 games behind the Jays, I really don't care.
