I would say if you don't want people to interpret what you think, stop posting your thoughts so often. It inclines others to think they know your actual thoughts. Or, maybe people interpret your thoughts in a way that you find unflattering because they interpret you as rude, dismissive, abrupt or overly self-confident. Who knows?
Of course, I wouldn't want to interpret the motives of others so I'm not saying that is true... I like you and appreciate your posts. I don't appreciate your constant attempts to limit the ability of others to interpret and respond to your thinking.

People should busy themselves with interpreting what is written. Projecting what someone else will think in a hypothetical situation is just stupid, especially when I am right here to tell you what I think. Goodness, you are dense today. I am tired of you running written words through your warped filter.

I am good with this ^. The last thing any of us needs is an unreasonable State Trooper riding around with a chip on his shoulder because of something Fred or I said.

Don't get butthurt when people who have been interacting with you for a long period of time recognize a trait and pattern in your personality/style. Be mad at yourself for becoming as predictable as guy like Jacko who had a chart made for him because his responses became so predictable.
|
I wouldn't mind if you occasionally got something right.

I like it. I would have liked them to be on Scott Feldman, but he signed with Cubs. I bet $5 million would get a deal done.

You're more predictable then Jacko and his chart. But this is as far as I take it. I'm not getting drug into one of your spats. That broken record is as you said "boring".

And you'll disappear by June if the team sucks again. Like you said, predictable.

Zach Stewart sent to Pittsburgh for a PTBNL.
Stewart came to Boston from the White Sox in the Youk deal.

I can understand your frustration but in reality, what team besides the tigers signing of torii hunter and the yankees resigning their guys has really done anything? Nobody. Besides, who knows what you will get out of Pettitte and Hunter due to their old age and Kuroda could have a bad year just like anybody else. It is easy to just sit there and criticize when we honestly have no background information as to what is going on behind the scenes. We must wait until the Winter Meetings is over in order to have a better idea of where the Sox stand and what they intend to do
|
That's very fair SJ93. I am going by Cherington's past performances and he has a reputation of being very slow on the draw, and very hesitant to make a move. He has said that himself. I keep being told by friends like EX1 to lay off Ben and give him a chance and by others to wait.....wait for the Winter Meetings, wait for the first of the year, wait, wait and wait some more. Two problems with that. One problem is ME. We cannot afford to wait coming off such a disastrous season. We need to make moves, either to get up to speed for 2013, or admit that we need to rebuild and go that direction. Problem No. 2 is that no matter how much Cherington dithers and stumbles and proves himself too crippled to make a move, his supporters will defend him against all evidence to the contrary.
Now who do I hope is right? Hint.....not me but I'm starting to worry that I may be.

You are certainly free to block anyone you wish but Fred is a baseball fan who is passionate in his opinions. One can disagree with his opinion and the way he presents them, but when it comes to baseball and talent his opinions have merit. Not that it is important but Fred has been a die hard Red Sox fan since I started discussing baseball with him on the old BDC site around 04.

So, I'm not too concerned about the arms race for next season, because I have no expectations for next season.

If you are right then it is time to throw off the mask and rebuild---and one way is to make that trade with KC if such thing is even a possibility. I also agree with you that Hamilton is a no-go....too much money and too many problems. The problem is that too many people think the AL East is going to be wide open next season, and we also keep hearing if only Lester and Buchholz could pitch like Nos. 1 and 2 starters we could be in the money, and you know what? I think this is Lucchino's thinking too. As fan from my vantage point I really don't think the front office really knows which way to turn and until they embark upon a definite program of either rebuilding or reloading we will be caught in a revolving door with no way to get out.

I disappear in June usually because I coach two teams and am in charge of a baseball program now at our club. I also work with the Netherlands National and junior National teams. And that doesn't even include my day job. Summer happens to be a real busy time for me. So my deepest apologies if I can't be around for your belly aching all the time.

Since you blocked me perhaps someone else will let you know what I think of your idiotic bullshit post. If you weren't such a simple minded naive dweeb you might have seen what went on here a few years ago as nothing more than a couple of jerks who I failed in my classes trying to retaliate by saying I was this fan and that fan and had no team. How stupid you had to be to swallow that crap hook line and sinker but when you're simple minded you will fall for almost anything.
This is the first time in years that I have actually attacked a fellow poster but your pathetic missive against me begs for a retaliatory response. And one thing you would understand if you weren't do deficient in independent thought. I might be some things but until you referred to me as a phony it was the first time anyone ever used that term against me. I've been called other things but anyone who knows me knows that Sea Beach Fred and the worst phony is an oxymoron at its best.....or worst.
