Default Red Sox To Sign Koji Uehara

Quote:
The Red Sox agreed to a one-year deal with reliever Koji Uehara, according to Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News. The deal has a $4.25MM base salary, tweets Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. Uehara is represented by SFX.
Good deal i say he was strong with Rangers last year even though his outings were not alwys in a pressure situation so that will get tested.

Decent. I wish we were able to get somewhat of a decent starting pitcher instead of more pen though

It's good to have a good arm in the pen. But, we still need help in the rotation.

This was a good signing.

The first good signing Cherington has made this off-season.

The bullpen is strong, but Uehara came at a good price and is a good pitcher.

Lord Snow is an idiot and will most likely commit message board suicide. Don't bother

Napoli wasn't a bad signing. I'm just not a big fan. I don't like guys coming off seasons where they just hit .227. Makes me nervous.

Uehara only pitched 39 innings between AAA and the Majors... Where was he the rest of the season?

well I agree and disagree with you, Napoli even though its short years i do agree he shouldnt have gotten anything more than 36 mill. same with Victorino.
but Victorino is going to be a big upgrade for us in defense if he is going to play Cody Ross's position. and Gomes bat will give us the production..
I am optimistic right now but I am really hoping we get another solid pitching arm.. need to trade Salty Jacoby to get a solid arm..

If we assume Morales to the rotation, a good bullpen acquisition might be something that helps the rotation. Morales has always had ace potential, and he put up some good starts last year. If people aren't overwhelmed by the remaining FA options Morales is a decent bet. So if the plan is to bring Uehara in to pitch Morales' innings while he moves up into the rotation, I'm down with that.

No he is not a good option. Two starts and 8 homers surrendered to the Yankees.
