So I've heard once or twice that Nomar will be out till mid to late June. Has anyone heard anything else on this?

I'd still rather have nomar, no matter how well we are playing now.

offensively and defensively id much rather have nomar....bellhorne is the only one batting good, crespo and reese are sucking it up...we need nomar back in the lineup for his bat.

Not that I don't love nomar, which I do, but we're not in desperate need for him. We're playing the best baseball I can remember the Sox playing so early.

You guys seriously think that we are winning because we don't have Nomar? If anything, the team can only do BETTER with his presence. Nomar means the Red Sox, he's the franchise player (no matter what fans say who think he's worthless).
You think we're good now, just wait.

woah, hold on, i never said we were winning becuz we dont have nomar. I just said we really don't need to rush him back right now and risk injuring him for the rest of the season. Think about it: Nomar doesn't come bak until June/July or even later. Even if he does well in hat time slot, is any team going to be willing to shell out 17 mil a year to him. This could work out for the Sox, where they could re-sign him for another year or two.

The fact that he'll miss half of this season won't necessarily affect his future contract I don't think. It may make him more willing to negotiate, which could possibly lead to a lower price, but I doubt it. He's a baseball player. Baseball players are selfish.
I really want Nomar signed. Of all the free agents, I'd like to see him back in Boston the most. Its a shame that in possibly his last season with the Sox he's out until June.

Folks, try to get used to the line-up without Nomar, because that's how things are going to look after this season.

But then we'll have either Edgar Renteria, Orlando Cabrera,or Jose Vidro (with Pokey at SS) taking his place.

Lol. May sounds way too optimistic right now. Basically, the earlier someone says, the more full of shit they are.
