The '80s rocked...Brat Pack movies, Stripes, Caddyshack...MTV played videos and introduced Remote Control...Cheers, Reagan....8-bit Nintendo, the Walkman, the boom box, Run-DMC, Celtics v. Lakers...

Sometimes I wonder if it's nice being really, really Amish. Never having to keep up with the swiftly changing social scene, fewer expenses, quiet life uniterrupted by the constant buzz of electronic devices in every direction.

Get out of here, 80s person!

And I'll call your Cheers, Run DMC and Celts-Lakers, and raise you Seinfeld, NWA and Michael Jordan's Bulls .

Sienfeld > Cheers, definitely. Cheers was great but Seinfeld is phenomenal.

    Also, basketball sucks.

Exactly. I like Cheers too, but Seinfeld is arguably the best show of all time.

The Simpsons could have made it an argument if it had ended six years ago or so.

The Simpsons in the 90s/early 2000s is always what I will remember best.

I agree. The Simpsons, the longest-running scripted comedy show in television history, was all time best for me.

I think thats out of context. It might be the best, but its later years hurt its overall standing. All the "greatest show" competitors have in common that they more-or-less went out on top. The Simpsons could have gone out about 8 years ago, but now the show is about as funny as Family Guy. It will assuredly go out on a low-point.

Anyone who doesn't think "Homer's Enemy" is one of the greatest TV episodes of all time is neither American nor human.

Season 8 might be the best season ever in any TV series. So many great episodes in that season alone.
