I'm not spending Father's Day with my dad. The doctors gave him permission, finally, to golf again, so he's out enjoying himself right now doing that. I'm going to see him tomorrow, but I'm just glad he's so happy. He's texted me about sixteen times from the golf course already today. "This is awesome!" (and so on and so forth).

    The Forgotten Red Sox

First time user here...hope I'm doing this right! My question is...why isn't anyone talking about the return of Brock Holt. We see him in the dugout but there is never any mention on when he will be re-activated? This leads me to believe he is done! Can anyone throw some light on this. Thanks.

I want to stress that there it no intent on my part to single out or make fun of another poster in the making of this thread. Yeszir wants me to remind anyone that any singling out of a particular poster in this thread will result in a ban.

Anyway, I'll get the ball rolling. Here are some things that really grind my gears.

    1. People who can't drive (ie don't use signals, stop for no reason, double park etc)

    2. When someone doesn't flush in a public restroom.

    3. When porno's try to have a storyline.

    4. The entire cast of Jersey Shore.

    5. Whenever Daniel Tosh puts himself into every clip on Tosh.o

He has vertigo due to multiple concussions. Since concussion science is still new, no one really knows when/if he'll ever come back.

See: Patrice Bergeron and Marc Savard

One guy takes a long while to get back and seems to almost fully recover, the other never plays again.

    This.

Head injuries, regardless of the sport are near impossible to predict as they differ from each person. I hope Holt comes back, but as I've mentioned before, I've heard he's having migraines and issues similar to Percy Harvin, who had to retire two different times due to those injuries. I know football is a little more risky, especially in terms of head injuries, but I'm definitely worried about Holt's health.

A week of training in Fairfax, VA during summer 'vacation'.

If you're going to send me to a conference, at least send me to the beach or to Disney, or someplace else fun.

Setting up a 4 lane electric slot car racing track that's been in storage for a few years.......... set it up back when Austin had it's first F1 race here at the COTA track.....

Slot car racing tracks haven't advanced much in technology since decades ago............. they are super finicky......... been cleaning, polishing, scraping the track all morning......

    still have lane issues.........

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is the next layout I want to do.....C track.jpg

The leads at the end of track pieces can oxidize and cause poor contact. Then, of course you have the electrical strips on the track surface to deal with! I always had very good success using an old fashioned ink eraser. They were more abrasive and worked quite well.

Then you have the resistor inside the controller and it's contact.

Then the brushes on the armature and commutator.

I still have my 1/24 cars in my hall closet.

I also have circa 1966-1968 Aurora HO Thunderjets including The Batmobile and Green Hornet.

Sadly, Robin and Batman have both been decapitated.
"Hating the Yankees like it's a religion since 94'" RIP Mike.

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."
