the yankees will have $52.75 million in salary freed up this offseason, but they have a lot of holes to fill. they will have to pay for a shortstop, a dh, two starting pitchers, a closer a backup outfielder and middle relievers. it's unlikely that they will be able to fill all these holes via free agency, they will likely have to turn to a trade

mr - Then hmmm maybe bring Wood back or let the kids fight it out for the last spot in the bullpen. You don't need to have every spot nailed down.

This was using your slot, I actually think the Yankees sign Crawford too and try to deal off Granderson or see if a team wants to part with a good young pitcher for Gardner.

Yep, YES is going national. If you have cable you'd know the Braves did it with TBS.

You continue to avoid using AAV, which is where the lux tax is settled from and is where most of the decisions arise from

I hope not. No one wants to see the Yankees play besides New York.

I have YES with AT&T Uverse right now, but no games. Are they paying the MLB for national broadcast rights like TNT did?

i know there's only like a 5% chance that jeter or rivera don't work out a deal with the yankees but whenever one of the dynasty yankees reach free agency i get excited about the possibility that something bad happens in contract negotations and they get offended and sign with a different team. it's annoying to hear yankees fans complain about how we treat our stars so badly and we run them out of town when they're past their prime when really we're just making good business decisions

hal steinbrenner, the guy in charge of the yankees spending wouldn't even let cashman spend $3 million to sign johnny damon last offseason. what makes you think he's going to increase payroll by 40 million?

Those Yankees' fans don't really know what they're talking about. Look at Bernie Williams.

Theo would probably have sex with a goat right now to have a player like Damon on his team. Just saying.
