I mentioned this earlier in the other thread. I am expecting a shift to a much more aggressive approach with Wacha this time around, like they did with David Price in Game 2 of the ALDS. Look for the first good fastball you see and let it rip. His curve is useless except as a "show" pitch, so you only have to adjust for the changeup.

I would have a field trip tonight of all nights.

If we're still there by 9 (or 10 eastern) then I'm just fucking leaving.

I completely agree having said the same thing.

What really pained me about game 2 was that Wacha left that change in some pretty bad locations from the pitcher's perspective and the Sox still could not hit it. I think that likely means that the only way to hit that thing even if thrown in a bad location is to be laying for it. It is a dangerous way to hit but some of them are swinging the bats so badly that it might make sense for some of them to look for the change with two strikes. He really does like to throw it with two strikes and it is possible to make mince meat of the change if you are both laying for it and it is thrown in a bad location from the pitchers perspective. Would not suggest it if not for the fact that some of them could hardly be doing worse at that plate at this point. So, the downside might not be that big a deal when you consider what a professional hitter can often do when he is expecting the change and gets it in a good place for him to do something with it.

I really think the Sox finish the Series tonight. Napoli usually hits the ball well after being off a game. Drew was putting together better at bats last game and almost homored.... tonight he breaks out of his slumps and gives the bottom of the lineup some production. Lackey' s great year and experience give him the pitching edge. Wachas youth gets exposed as hitters like Ortiz and Pedroia take advantage of seeing him a second time.

    Dear Mr. Henry,
I appreciate the championships- but I'm watching today's game to see a competitive team. I don't keep going back to restaurants who serve terrible food because two years ago I had a great meal there.

I know it. YOU know it. you lose tonite. You know the Cards are 8-1 in elimination games. You know Wacha is unhittable. But you will have a home Halloween game 7, when Kelly will beat you again. A nyctophobiac's nightmare for your Boys.

I, BornToRun, hereby decree that from this moment forward, John Lackey is to no longer be referred to as "John Lackey".

Instead, "John MOTHERFUCKING Lackey" must be posted in its place.

Get the hell outta' here. You want to come talk about the game fine...keep your "you know it" shit for whatever shitty Cards board you frequent. Unfucking-believable. Never fails. Trolls always turn trollish eventually. Don't spew that shit here. Nobody here goes to the enemy boards to spew this kinda' shit.

Oh shut up and assume the position like your on-field binkies will be doing in a couple of hours.
