Why not? Have you watched the kid play SS in Pawtucket? He is at least a s good as X defensively. He can't hit but he gives nothing away late in a game with his D.

Still, Hernandez is at least average in the field and he does hit.

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

I love Red Sox W's on the West Coast. If they're winning while I'm sleeping I can live with it.

Kelly looked about as reliable as Kimbrel. He can throw as fast as Kimbrel. Watch out Kimbrel!
Neither Kimbrel nor Kelly has a good idea of where the pitch will go after it is released. The big difference between the two of them is that Kimbrel's ball has such movement that he overpowers most catchers and umps often get fooled by his pitchers. The batters really are helpless against him. Kelly's ball is straight and if his location is not perfect, most major leaguers can turn around his fastball. There is no comparison between the 2. Hopefully, Kelly can be useful late in games, but I will not have a secure feeling with him on the hill in the 8th inning.

And that is the nix on Kelly. Really good stuff but lack of command.

I'm curious how this has changed?

I am willing to sacrifice some sleep when the Sox win. When they lose, I think to myself, I gave up my sleep for this???

LOL The Sox definitely offer a good excuse to drink.
