Yes, we can all be thankful for that.

I can see why he'd want to avoid big luxury tax costs, if possible, and the penalties for going $20M or more over are very punitive.

The report today indicates both Pomeranz and Wright reported to camp with physical problems. Ugh1

Everything is relative. Nobody likes to throw their money away but John Henry paying Sandoval's salary can be compared to me paying my cable bill.

Henry can live with 'monetary' penalties but loss of draft picks, etc, he can't buy his way out of. Our top line is growing to $380M, yet the luxury tax will remain relatively stable at around $200M for 4 years.

Me too, but it's mostly my own fault for 'needing' all this stuff.

The trouble with that is cable providers bundle shit together so If I want NESN so I am able to watch the Sox I have to sign on for a bunch of shit I don't want and pay a heftier premium to do so.

    What a racket.
"Hating the Yankees like it's a religion since 94'" RIP Mike.

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

yes. This is one of the things that really pisses me off. I could get a package without NESN that would give me everything I watch but when I add in NESN I get lots of junk I'd never watch and have to pay nearly 2X as much for it.
It's a mere moment in a man's life between the All-Star game and the Old Timer's game.

NESN should have their own online streaming service, all networks should.

MLB Network now has the buy one team package. It might be cheaper than the bundle.
