I've said all along that Panda will be the opening day 3b.

The Sox want Butterball to be the starting 3b and have said that they need to get some value from him.

Unless the fat fuck has a terrible Spring again, he will be the starting 3b.

I hope that he can be at least average. That would be okay.

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

Yup. I would have no problem doing that.

Of course in the event that he continues to flounder, it would be nice to hear her acknowledge that she may have been wrong about the Nutty 3rd Baseman.

When I am wrong, I acknowledge it. It's just that I'm not wrong very often.

FTR, I never said Pablo wouldn't flounder, just that he deserves a fair chance and that people should stop the character assassination.

However, I do think he will rebound.

No. But when I say he is a fat fuck or fat slob it certainly is.

Not when I say it. Many of my good friends are fat slobs and fat fucks.

Same here. I am a fat fuck. I know many fat fucks that are not lazy slobs like Fatboy.

I have no problem with them at all.

Personally my expectations are fairly low. When the season starts, Sandoval will not have faced MLB pitching on a consistent basis for 18 months. As he was not exactly a stellar hitter to begin with, I don't expect a rapid adjustment.

My hope is he turns out like Lackey. Gives two awful seasons with a missed year and miraculously turns it around. But that's probably too much to expect. ..

"My career had fallen into an abyss because I was so complacent with things that I had already accomplished," Sandoval said by phone in his first public comments since August. "I did not work hard in order to achieve more and to remain at the level of the player that I am and that I can be."

"Things definitely happen for a reason," Sandoval said. "[The surgery and rehab process] have helped revitalize that fire in me to win again."

"I have been following a really strict routine that has taken a lot of dedication from my part," Sandoval said. "It has not been easy to wake up every single day at 6:30 in the morning to then head to the gym and start a full day of work. But you have to have that kind of dedication if you want to achieve the goals you have set for yourself."

"I am not taking anything for granted," Sandoval said. "I am here to work hard. I'm not thinking about the position or not. I am starting from scratch, and I am here to show what I can do on the field."

"I certainly get it. I understand all the frustration [fans] must have felt, and I can't hold any grudges," Sandoval said. "I have no ill will about anything. Actually the opposite. It was another lesson for me. It fueled me. It gave me the courage to work harder every day so one day I can be a part of another Boston Red Sox championship."
