CC throws a gem. Our offense hits a couple big flies. That's how it's supposed to work!
Clipppard needs to remember that Longoria eats us for dinner. It's bottom of the 8th, two out, two on. Walking him loads the bases, but allowing him to hit loses is the game. I'd be very careful with him. He seems to really love facing NYY
Is it finally time for Tanaka to have his Tommy John surgery?
I think it might be. His velocity is there, but his location has been awful
I wonder if he ends up on the operating table. He usually had pinpoint command and his last two starts have been otherworldly bad. Some guys have a stinker, but he's had two of the worst starts of his career back to back
Break out the platelets.
"Hating the Yankees like it's a religion since 94'" RIP Mike.
"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."
seems like Yankees literally have unlimited bullpen options, they haven't missed much with chapman out so far
Add in the fact that we dealt away Pazos and he's dominating in Seattle and we have a cadre of pen options. This has been a major focus of Cashman's in the new era of the draft. While teams are drafting depth guys in rounds 5-10 who they'd pay peanuts to, the Yankees are drafting college relievers with big arms. They have even converted some of those guys back to starters and worked on their arsenal (see Chance Adams). This has led to every level having good pen work and every level having bullpens with guys who routinely touch high 90s.
Our bullpen, minus Tommy Layne, is pretty boss.
