Pedroia will be fine, as will our team. I did not like his reaction at all, but he's the type of player that will make it right.

    Red Sox Claim Chase d’Arnaud
By Jeff Todd | April 27, 2017 at 12:52pm CDT

The Red Sox have claimed infielder Chase d’Arnaud off waivers from the Braves, per a club announcement. He had been designated for assignment and, evidently, placed on outright waivers by Atlanta.

To clear 40-man space, Boston bumped righty Carson Smith to the 60-day DL. He is still recovering from Tommy John surgery, and it wouldn’t seem as if the placement says much about any changes to his timeline to return.

The 30-year-old d’Arnaud represents a utility option for the Sox, who are struggling to cover with third baseman Pablo Sandoval on the DL and second bagger Dustin Pedroia also ailing. Over 262 career trips to the plate at the game’s highest level, d’Arnaud owns only a .245/.317/.335 batting line.

Or Farrell could wind up with his 3rd last place finish. No runs means no wins.

You would have to go back a long way to find a Red Sox manager with 3 last place finishes. Has anyone done that?

I'll be shocked if we finish last.

It wouldn't be the first time.

I'm still thinking this team is too good to not win the division or more.

Manager Bill Carrigan guided the Boston Red Sox to last-place finishes in 1927, 1928 and 1929:

The Red Sox finished last six years running (and eight of nine straight seasons).

So we have to go back 88 years to find such futility, and Carigan probably had the lowest payroll in the league.

To his credit, Bill Carrigan guided the Red Sox to World Series titles in the Babe Ruth years of 1915 and 1916

I don't like him, but the lack of offense isn't his fault.
