All of my memories of the great moments involve our Sox playing in the traditional or 1970s uniforms and the opposition in their traditional uniforms. I don't like the Memorial Day, 4th of July, camouflage, Mothers Day Pink and Father's Day blue uniforms. It is like watching a softball game with those uniforms. I think that if I was a kid and it was my first game at Fenway Park that it would be a disappointment to see the team in one of those uniforms. David Ortiz in pink hitting a walk off home run just doesn't look right in a highlight reel. If Chris Sale pitches a no-hitter, posters of the last out will not look right if he is wearing one of those red, white and blue uniforms with Stars and Stripes. I think it dilutes the brand and it does nothing for the enjoyment of the fans. Isn't the whole endeavor about the fans' experience. It is just another example of baseball executives making misguided business decisions. Frankly, some of these uniforms look ridiculous.
Couldn't agree more with this actually! It's a money grab is what it is. I don't mind the casual change on Friday to the blue or red just to change it up but that is about it. There is just too many new jerseys and hats now. The Yankees have stuck to their colours pretty much since they have been in the MLB.

I agree with the throw backs as an alt jersey once and a while. I really like those and it makes you feel like you are watching some classic baseball from the 70's. No idea why we don't do it more often.

So you don't own one of those beautiful camouflage Sox hats then?

Lmao, that's the problem with all these alternates. I actually wouldn't mind owning a blue alt jersey. Ugh.

The only thing I ask about jerseys is that they not have both teams wearing the same color jerseys on the same day. I'm old and easily confused.
It's a mere moment in a man's life between the All-Star game and the Old Timer's game.

I can see them wearing this stuff during Battong Practice and Spring Training (like the St. Patrick's Day green) and still being able to market it. Just keep it out of the regular season games.

Every team in both leagues were wearing the same uniforms. I was switching back and forth from game to game and I had no idea what team was at bat or in the field.

Lol I could only imagine watching a Jays and Sox game on Sunday when the Jays are wearing their alt red jerseys. I am sure I would constantly have to remind my dad which team is which lol.

I don't mind some alternates - I like secondary logos (I liked the Red Sox "Socks" friday night hat when they sported them). The Navy ones are fine. Other stuff - or holday specific stuff is silly. And for the most part, the team cannot really improve on the home whites - although going with a 1975 era hat would be the sort of change I'd approve of.

The hanging Sox logo and throwback uniforms are fine. They are part of the team's history. But the pink and blue, camo, and red white and blue Stars and Stripes are confusing because every team is wearing them. Part of the idea of a uniform (in fact the main idea) is to identify your team.

Agreed with this completely. Which is why I also don't mind the alt red jerseys once in a blue moon. Even though its not historic I can see them worn the odd time as they are Red. If any team is wearing an all red jersey it should be the REDsox. Teams like the Jays wearing them or when the Atlanta Braves wore red didn't make any sense to me.

The Canadian flag is RED and white. They have the RED maple leaf in their logo. I think that's what they are going for.

I blame ATL for the red Jays jerseys.

    Amen.

I never give these carnival uniforms any thought. I'm glad that I have Internet porn.

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

Ya fair point which makes sense they wear it on Canada day. But they are wearing them every week now. Just seems strange to me even though the Canadian flag is Red and white. Jays colours have always been blue and white. Takes some getting used to.

I'd be just as happy if the Sox reverted to the 75 uni's all season long.
