    Porcello

Keeping this short and sweet. Where do we see Porcello in the future?? I tried to hold out hope for him as long as I could as I do think he has amazing potential and I really hope last year wasn't a fluke. But after last night I am about done with him. I honestly will shit my pants in whatever game he starts in the playoffs. I have absolutely no trust in him what so ever. His 2nd last start I thought "finally a great start and maybe get some confidence in him" but then he plays like crap against a below average team.

Regardless as frustrating as it is what is Porcellos future with us? Maybe if he shows up and has the game of his life in the playoffs he might earn back some respect but I just can't see it anymore.

I see him in Boston for two more years.

Actually he wasn't so bad after the first four hitters last night...

Yeah, we seem to forget that he settled down after that. The way everyone is playing his start last night out to be is that he gave up 10 runs and was a disaster. No way. He looked good after the grand slam

So good that he was pulled early from the game.

True, although at this point in the season with an expanded bullpen and some pitchers around 200IP, I do hope Farrell is quick to pull them. A lot of people griped when he left Sale in the other day...

Rest Porcello, burn up Sale. Great job Farrell!

Because Farrell has been saying all week how he wanted Price to get extended work

Should have pitched the Sale game then.

He got it together but was a really ugly start. Had we lost that game 4-3 it would have been all on his shoulders. Come playoff time against Houston or Cleveland we simply can't afford a 4 run inning from Porcello.

The Sox can afford it if he only gives up those 4 runs and they score 5.

He started out badly, but it wasn't an awful start...

That extension looked great last year, but shitty this year.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Keep Sale in for almost an entire game but yank Porcello out after 4. Makes no sense to me. Regardless Porcello was fine after the first inning but one or two awful innings can be the killer come playoffs.

Well, it made sense from the perspective of trying to win both the games.

It made perfect sense. Farrell is in playoff mode right now, trying to clinch the division. His decisions reflect that.
