Yeah, this thread title is just a bit premature still, as nothing has officially been announced or even definitively reported yet...though it looks pretty certain to be Cora at this point.
Dombrowski said yesterday that no decision had been made, but I'm guessing that's about as solid as when there were no Sox players having offseason surgery.
Love it! Love infielders as Managers. They understand Pitchers almost as good as Catchers, because they use their eyes first. Feel for the game. No previous experience I like, no bad habits, or trends. Now the important thing, is he'll make mistakes, but he has to file it, and don't do it again.
He was smart player, he'll be a smart Manager. Smart wins a lot of games.
I'll be surprised if Butterfield gets replaced. He's known as a guru of infield defense and is credited with teaching Hanley to play 1B as well as working with Bogaerts on his footwork and getting into position to make throws. The Sox may want Butterfield around to work with Devers whether he ends up at 3B or 1B.
It's a mere moment in a man's life between the All-Star game and the Old Timer's game.

Smart player and he was mentally always in the game. I like the move. I think he could do a very good job with our young players. I just hope he is up to the challenge of dealing with all the scrutiny and second guessing. At least he understands what it's like to play in Boston.
Who is the worst 3rd base coach butterfield or way them in Kim?
