Waiting for Hanley to get down on one knee, then Superman jump fly out of the stadium into the sky after that game.
In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
    In the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun
'Til we found a sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
    In our yellow submarine

The power of a potentially expiring contract. Nothing motivates quite like it. Larry was a genius for putting this in the contract.

"It's also a simple and indisputable fact that WAR isn't the be-all end-all in valuations, especially in real life. Wanna know why? Because an ace in run-prevention for 120 innings means more often than not, a sub-standard pitcher covering for the rest of the IP that pitcher fails to provide. You can't see value in a vacuum when a player does not provide full-time production."

Boom. In a SSS I have seen a guy with good command of several pitches. He does not over-power anyone. But he knows how to pitch.

I hope he has a solid to great year. That would be huge.

Isn't every GM doing the same thing? Offering contracts that eventually expire.
