Remember, if you do not win the first one, you cannot win them all. So I'm saying there is a chance at 162-0.

Vegas, you should list goals for every game.

And the SOX have the fastest running catcher, also.

Being more realistic, the SOX are only 99 wins away from 100. I mean that is more realistic than 162-0.

Nice win. I did watch parts and especially Jansen closing.

    1-0

Let's keep winning. And yeah, Duran should have stole home in the 9th instead of dancing in front of Casas.

    Fun game to watch.

    Power
    Speed
    Some good D
Pitching when we needed it most

    Nice start to '24.
When you say it's gonna happen now
    When exactly do you mean?

Nice to see a great performance on Opening Day for the first time in ages. I’ve been quite sick with Covid this week so it was quite nice to wake up to that this morning!

So happy baseball is back. Great to be back with all of you as well

    Observations:

Sox were very aggressive on the basepaths which is what this type of team needs.

Bello was ok, but a more patient team would have had more runners on.

Joely may pitch himself out of a job early.

speaking of Joely... the man on base, left by Campbell goes in the books as an earned run against him (Campbell). i've always thought this was bullshit. he didn't allow the man to score, Joely did. IMHO, scoring on the men LOB should be credited as a half of an earned run with half going to the pitcher who allowed the baserunner and half going to the pitcher that allowed him to score. IOW, Campbell gets .5 ER for that inning and Joely gets 1.5. i know this is pretty minor stuff but Joely gave up the meatball, not Campbell.

It's part of the reason that ERA isn't a great indicator of how a pitcher performs.

    From Gabrielle Starr:

Alex Cora got a loud chuckle when he explained why it's Tyler O'Neill over Wilyer Abreu in RF tonight:

“I got a five-game losing streak on Opening Day, and he has a four-game home-run streak (on Opening Days) so, analytics.”
Championships since purchase by John Henry group: Red Sox 4 Yankees 1

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last 9 postseason games against the Yankees.

In one of my favorite statistical anomalies, Chris Martin has a -0.06 FIP.
