Tony Batista Released by SoftBank Hawks

The SoftBank Hawks of Nippon Professional Baseball (Japan's pro league) have released 3Bman Tony Batista, who they had signed 1 year earlier to a record contract. 2yr/$30mil *I believe). Most of us remember Batista as the Orioles SS/3Bman for so many years, but his big contract was based on the big year he had for the Expos in 2004, his only year with the team.

Nothing of significance, just thought I would post it.

    No link yet, sorry

batista can play pretty much anywhere in the IF, could serve as a pretty good utility player for someone.

He was the one we could've used last season, instead of Jose Valentin.

Anyway, here's one of his highlights in Japan.
