Mussina pitched just as well as Santana. Johan was far from his sharpest, but 0 runs is 0 runs. Yanks got 9 hits off him (which is quite rare), but he didn't let them clutch his. Nathan went lights out in the 9th. So far, so good, in both divisional series.

Good start by Santana, i liked what i saw from him. Scared to face him in the ALCS if we do.

I liked what I heard from Santana too. The thing that separates good pitchers from great pitchers is being able to pitch in pressure situations, and Santana did that MASTERFULLY. The Yankees hit him hard throughout the game, had a baserunner on in every inning he pitched, but he always got out of a jam.

Santana gave the Twins everything you can dream of in the "ace" of your staff.

On the other hand, so did Mussina. He just happened to pitch SLIGHTLY worse than Santana. I'd be a little nervous to face either of these guys right now.
