Hopefully, another great start for Schilling, and he'll completely win over the Fenway Faithful!

He'll pitch well, I hope. I think he'll feed off the energy left over from last night, as well as the electricity that is always in the air at fenway when the sox have a great pitcher on the mound.

I cant wait for the game to start!

It may be completely unimportant, but it was something that struck me as odd.

In his career, Schilling has 25 1/3 ip at fenway, and a 6.04 ERA. He does have 29 strikeouts though. It seems odd to me that he'd have this high of an ERA, but I guess it's been a while since he pitcher here, and he never really pitched as part of an AL ball club.

On the other hand, he has an even worse ERA (6.55) in 11 ip at camden yards, and he pitched well there last week. So I guess I'm not worried. It was just weird to me.

That's probably because he was facing the Red Sox. Now he's playing for the best team in baseball, against the Blue Jays.

Good point. I hadnt thought of that actually. :D

No doubt in my mind that he'll pitch well. In fact, he just got the first batter out. :D

Uh, oh. Come on Curt, get out of the inning. We'll get those two back.

The frickin offense is taking a little Easter Sunday nap today. Guys, we faced Halladay last night, not today. You can now feel free to rip Batista.

yeesh, its not a very pretty game. No offense, come on! All our runs were scored on homers last night, why cant you do anything today!

04-11-2004, 03:30 PM
There's one run back, COME ON SOX!

CalvnHobs6

Here we go boys. Millar just score, bases still juiced, down 1.

yagmaster
04-11-2004, 03:34 PM
shoot, alright let's get a 1,2,3 top ninth, and finish the comeback in the bottom. let's go.

btw speier is a fucking cheater...going to his mouth before the pitcher

dirtdogman5

Not a Super Jew anymore. :(

I'm not feeling too confident with Crespo, McCarty, and Bellhorn up in the 9th. They had their chance. Damnit.

CalvnHobs6
04-11-2004, 03:37 PM
Don't lose faith. Bellhorn DID hit a homerun last night.

dirtdogman5
04-11-2004, 03:47 PM
Ok here we go...gut check time. Walk off win here we come? Let's go Sox!

yagmaster
04-11-2004, 03:50 PM
CESAR! CESAR! That's way to start the inning!

yagmaster
04-11-2004, 03:54 PM
Have I said how much I love Bellhorn? He's gonna have a GREAT year. Come on BILLY!

roary
04-11-2004, 04:03 PM
You really cant ask for more than what the sox gave us just now. They rallied big time to end up tying to score in the 9th, and hopefully they can put it away in the 10th or later on if need be.

Plus Crespo came up big with that double, maybe the most unlikely of candidates for that seeing as hoe he has only 2 hits all season, both coming yesterday.

yagmaster
04-11-2004, 04:06 PM
dammit, vernon. You've sucked hitting to hurt my fantasy game, and you're playing excelent defense to rob the sox of a ninth inning victory. hope you strike out here you jerk.

MANNY! MANNY!

btw, I love talking to myself...

Nice single, winning run on base...

Here we go Millar!

Dammit, Jason, that's the worst thing you can do! Come on Gabe.

yeszir
04-11-2004, 04:27 PM
Lol, its like a play by play in here. Kapler isnt looking that good at all in this game, or in the whole season for that matter. a .222 average and obp is nothing to write home about. As much as it pains me to say it, we need Trot back in that lineup.

FourZeroSix
04-11-2004, 04:27 PM
Are you shitting me, KAPLER?!

04-11-2004, 04:28 PM
Are you shitting me BOBBY "I ALWAYS BLOW GAMES LIKE I BLOW MYSELF" JONES IS COMING IN! Oh man.....

dirtdogman5
04-11-2004, 04:29 PM
OMG you %&&(@#!!!!!!!!!!!! Damnit Jason! Damnit Kapler! Where was the bunt on Tek, Tito? Goddamnit! Yes I'm saying that on Easter.

yagmaster
04-11-2004, 04:31 PM
Bobby Jones has to be the worst pitcher ever.

TheFens
04-11-2004, 04:31 PM
Ugh. If bringing up Castillo means I never have to see Bobby Jones pitch again, I'm glad they sent Dauber down.

dirtdogman5
04-11-2004, 04:32 PM
Throw the ball over the plate!

Sinix
04-11-2004, 04:32 PM
WOW. 8 straight balls. AND HE HAS NONE!

dirtdogman5
04-11-2004, 04:34 PM
Where is Williamson? Tito has some 'splaining to do if he's not hurt.

Sinix
04-11-2004, 04:42 PM
Thank god...Bobby Jones should never ever ever ever ever pitch again.

dirtdogman5
04-11-2004, 04:43 PM
Malaska really bailed out Jones on that one. Good job, Mark. Now let's win it.

Why? Malaska hasn't proven himself to be a bad pitcher (in fact, I think he just proved himself a good pitcher). Last year he pitched well, albeit in a short time, with Tampa Bay. I see no reason why that move should have been questioned, especially since it is an extra inning game and williamson may be needed later on.

Great job by Mark Malaska. Hopefully, he's earned his way onto the permanent Sox bullpen staff. I was very impressed with the way he got three straight outs.

Sinix
04-11-2004, 04:48 PM
Oh boy. 12th inning.

THANK YOU DAVID ORTIZ!

Sinix
04-11-2004, 05:04 PM
Ortiz is a beast!

Last year we had twenty-something games won in the last at-bat. I wonder how many it'll be this year.

yeszir
04-11-2004, 05:05 PM
Thank God. Man, that would have been unfortuante if Bobby Jones blew it for us. Ortiz is becoming the man more and more and more and more. I now see this guy topping 40 homers and 120 rbi this year. As that sign up on tv said, he is indeed "el sexy"

dirtdogman5
04-11-2004, 05:07 PM
ORITIZZZZZZLE!!!!!! Man I love this guy and this team! Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!!

Sinix
04-11-2004, 05:08 PM
That's reasonable if he keeps up this pace. He's going to do much better than 5th in MVP voting this year.

you had to know big daddy was gonna get it done :D

CalvnHobs6
04-11-2004, 05:12 PM
MALASKA + ORTIZ = :D

But, c'mon. I'm getting sick of this. I mean, Ortiz ALWAYS wins the game for us. Can't it be someone else?

Malaska was great. Foulke was great. Schilling was great. Bobby Jones should be raped by Rich Garces. I mean, he should not play baseball.

Ortiz delivers yet AGAIN. I love him.

Lol...Schilling may have been good, but 4 ER isn't too great. Hopefully he can adjust to Fenway quickly.

I was mostly referring to the 10 K's and 0 BB.

Sinix
04-11-2004, 05:28 PM
That's true. I don't have any doubt about his skill, I just want him to get some wins. :P

CalvnHobs6

Well, as a coach I had once said...A win is a win is a win is a win. We won today. I am happy.

Also - Bellhorn has 10 walks in 7 games. OBP attack!
