That Draft Was Bad

I'm sorry, but when three teams have all the good players, and three other teams have all the prospects, this is worse than the old league. The draft was terrible. Cliff Lee being picked by the Orioles in the 1st round? Arizona taking Brandon Lyon in the 4th? I don't know about anyone else, but I think that draft was awful.

WOW. When is the REAL draft? This is an ABSOLUTE joke. I chose some guy Ive never heard of in the 4th round. How the hell do you justify CLIFF LEE over A-ROD!!!? I DEMAND a re-draft. This is a joke. Go back to the old league that actually MADE SENSE.

I got Duck worth in round 5 i think, then a 5.0 starter in teh 6th adn Ryan Howard, a 5.0 1B spect in the 28th so its not that bad. Just weirdly done.

But if you look in the 12th round, you see picks like Sammy Sosa, I think it all evens up in the end. Texas you got Pedro and Sheffield, so please stop your bitching.

How the hell was the league fine before? Because you were in 1st place? The league had no one in control and we needed a group of people to govern the league. The league would have continued to run in total chaos, without a restart.

I think it's less about 'the draft was a joke' than it is 'Stupid Sandman used Halofan's roster set'. Some crappy players are godly (I thought I had weeded through most of them); and had you not all seen the results yesterday I was going to do it again using a better roster set (which I'm still up for if the rest of the league seems OK with it).

After checking the results one more time, it's definitely a roster set problem. The computer wasn't wrong for picking Cliff Lee where it did, it was my fault for not noticing Cliff Lee was rated too high.

You guys gotta look deeper than the names and at the Star ratings, age and attributes; that's why a lot of these guys were picked where they were. Bonds is head and shoulders above anybody else in the league, and he was picked 27th because he is 40.

Bonds is also 40 and may or may not retire at the end of the season.

Cliff Lee is a 25 year old starting pitcher who carries good ratings :(

These teams are fair based on the rankings in the game. Forget what you know about these players in real life. The game assigns them evenly based on what it thinks each player's abilities are.

Other than that, the CPU drafted based on 50% ratings, 35% 2003 stats, 12% 2002 stats and 3% 2001 stats. For those of you unfamiliar with OOTP, that is the formula for the star rating :).
