mass amount of payroll be taken on dreifort isn&#39;t a 3.5 hes a 3.0 hes older and injury prone. Baldelli is almost ready and is beter than cabrera. Betemit is gonna be really good.

Orlando Cabrera plays a much harder position than Baldelli. They have similar potential, and Rocco may be ready soon, but Cabrera is ready now.

Dreifort carries a high price tag, yes. But he is a quality pitcher despite that, and 31 is definately not old. My mistake reporting him as a 3.5, he WAS a 3.5 at the beginning, and I neglected to go back and check. You&#39;ll notice I also misquoted his salary (11.5 mil it really should be 11 mil). I will fix that after I post this.

Getting prospects is always a risk. Betemit is a 4.5 level prospect, but this is the classic prospect - for - veteran trade. I gave up 2 proven guys, and got 3 prospects.

I believe this trade is fair, I really do. Yes, I am getting younger. Yes, I am getting cheaper. But Cabrera and Dreifort are quality players who will help Florida right now.
