I find it funny that a Yankee fan is trying to start a flame war over farm systems. Kind of sad, too, when the Yankees, clearly have the worst farm system in MLB according to whoever you read and/or talk to.

Our farm system is actually not that bad.
All of these players are potiental regulars, and that's not all of them too.
Hanley Ramirez
Brandon Moss
Jon Papelpon
Anibal Sanchez
Luis Soto
Jon Lester
Dustin Pedroria
Kelly Shoppach
Abe Alvarez

2090, what is wrong with you? Were you abandoned as a little kid? Are you striving for attention now? If not, shut up. Everyone else, just ignore anything by this guy and he'll eventually leave.

why are the Sox going for a 2 year deal /plus with Edgar if Hanley is supposed to be ready next year?

where are you hearing this knews? who in their right mind would pay renteria 10 mill a season over the course of 4 seasons other than the high payroll teams?

I was going back in reguards of signing him since we got Ramirez (Hanley). We could trade Youkilis and move Renteria to 3B if need be too. There are to many things that could happen: Bronson Arroyo, Hanley Ramirez, David Murphy and Abe Alverez for Ben Sheets?
Bottom line is Ramirez is a stud.

i dont think he said it was news , he said they might trade him and i think plenty of people will want rentria

giving up all that for ben sheets when you don't even know if you can match the highest offer given to him on the market is a bad idea. arroyo is a cheap starter and you're giving up 3 prospects for him.
gosox- like i stated earlier, no one other than the high payroll teams could afford renteria. the angels have cabrera, the yankees have jeter and i don't really see any other team spending that kind of money when you can get somone like delgado for 1-2 mill more per year and have much better production offensively.

The Cubs, Mariners, White Sox, Cardinals (if desperate) and Dodgers could all afford Renteria and depending on injury prone Jose Reyes, the Mets. Even if you pay half his salary, Hanley Ramirez would only be making $300,000.

Theo was asked in a radio interview last week on Weei what he planned to do with HanRam. He said he currently has no intention of trading him. When asked why they don't move him to 2b or 3b, Theo said that it was not out of the question, but for right now he wanted Ramirez to continue playing SS because it's the most important and covetted position in the infield.
Sooo it would seem to me that if the right trade came along, they may unload him as a SS at a higher value. But if no such trade happens, they will amost certainly replace Mueller or Bellhorn with him once they are done in Boston.

i honestly don't see any of those trades happening. if they do trade what do those teams have to offer?

I'd take anything if they took his contract and we got to play Hanley.
