In my life, the biggest thing was the NHL Strike... Me being an avid Bruins fan, it really hurts to see the players AND owners acting like douche bags. I had season tickets for like, I dunno 6 or 7 years maybe? and I went to a lot of games, so yeah... it kinda hurts to see no hockey on TV, but what can you do.

The hockey strike sucks, but the basketball fight has to be the biggest thing, since it's going to have far-reaching effects across professional sports.

i voted for tmac because that was the single most amazing thing i have ever seen in my lifetime. pats, while i am a very avid fan have won be4, people go on strike all the time, the fight- ok that was cool and big but holy shit 13 pts in 35 seconds? the other team (i foget who) did everything possible to win the game too thats what makes it so amazing- they made EVERY free throw and bucket but tmac just was insane- something that never has nor will ever happen again.

Once in a while I see there talking (the nhl). Are they close?
what Bias. Patriots Super Bowl OVER the PAcers-Pistons brawl? Now I am not saying the main posters did this, but some people need to vote for the "feel-good" candidate

I didn't vote for the pats, but i don't see why the fight was so important. There are tons of fights in sports, did you vote this one because it had fans involved? What about a couple of years ago when fans beat up the 1st base coach, was that the biggest thing in sports of the year? no. (I answered it for you so you wouldn't have to think) I'm not the biggest hockey fan, but strikes like this don't happen that often.
The only reason the fight and T-Mac are on there is because they just happened. What about everything that happened with the lakers earlier this year? And also the Pistons winning the NBA title, who saw that coming before the playoffs started? You could make a really long list for other things that have happened, AND support them.

I've got a good other, how about Bellevue High School beating De La Salle and ending their 151 game winning streak? I know many forgot, or never saw this story, but it was a amazing streak.
ESPN story (http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/news/story?id=1875067)
The Bellevue Wolverines went on to win state, for their 4th time in a row, and 5th all time, becoming the first HS in WA state history to get 5 football state titles. The Wolverines are the best HS football team on the west coast, and 9th in the nation last time i checked.
