Celtics hire Doc Rivers as Head Coach

Doc Rivers, fired by the Magic last November after a 1-10 start to the just-completed regular season, will be hired as the next head coach of the Boston Celtics.
Reading that as the first paragraph made me kind of uneasy. :(

Oh, wow. Nice. Not being a big basketball fan, I don't know much about him. But leading the magic to a 1-10 start, and being the '00 coach of the year send me two very different signals.

Yea they had a horrible team last year, bogged with injuries....they just continued to do bad after Doc was fired.

From what I&#39;ve heard, he is 1 game over .500 in his coaching career, but as has been said, it was with a pretty crappy team. I may have to follow the celtics next year. I&#39;m gonna admit I didn&#39;t watch a single game this year.

I follow every of the 4 major sports team in Boston/NE (bruins, celtics, redsox, patriots) even when they are losing all the time...and i followed the celtics this year...and boy did danny ainge fuck up the team....hopefully we get something good with the 3 first round draft picks this year.

Yup. I don&#39;t know much about basketball, but I know he screwed the team and the fans over. Kinda like Dan Duquette, except not as bad.

Rivers coached the worst team in basketball and made them competive. He is an ideal Boston Celtics coach. Like the Magic in 2000, the Celtics are facing the same dilema. The Celtics have a bunch of nobodies, Rivers has a way with these players to make them compitive
