We better win, Lowe owns cleveland:

G GS W L SV CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP BAA
24 3 4 1 8 1 0 53.2 39 17 14 4 12 31 2.35 0.95 .201

Davis against Boston, on the other hand, not so great:

G GS W L SV CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP BAA
1 1 1 0 0 0 0 7.2 6 4 4 0 0 4 4.70 0.78 .207

We've scored a lot of runs off of him in the past, so I hope itll continue. Sorry the stats are a little off, but I have yet to find a good way to post them.

That would be alright, I guess. But it would feel to me like we were wasting all of our alloted runs for a month in one game. That wouldn't be good.

The sox need to absolutely shell Davis. He's had an ERA for each of the last 3 years, consistently. He was in single A in 2002.

Going from single A to the big leagues and facing the Red Sox in two years is a big jump. Hopefully he'll falter and we can win one finally. Don't forget, including this one, there are 3 games left in the series. We cans till take 3/4, a good series by any stretch of the imagination!

I don't see how the woes could possibly continue. Think about it. 12 LOB last night, 18 a few weeks ago, its pathetic if you think about it. Our batters hit, and they showed that last year.

Mueller, Manny, Millar, Ortiz. Those players alone are enough to win games. We don't need to be begging for Trot and Nomar to come back. They need to snap out of it and start hitting NOW. Manny needs to stop being friendly with the media and fans, and he needs to start hitting. I'd rather have a cold and reserved manny who occasionally doesnt run out ground balls but hits .350 with 130 RBI than the Manny we see today who has a website and talks to reporters.

They better cheer me up during this game, thats all I can say.

Damn. One hit sox, two hits Indians. Matt Lauten scores on Vizquel's double. What the hell. This is going to be one more of those games.

As far as importance of this one goes, it really isnt that important if you think about it. It's just a matter of momentum. I'd say the most important game was all of the ones in the yankee series at new york. It scared yankee fans, and gave us some confidence when playing against them.

Now vizquel on 3rd one out. Damn, whats going on Lowe.

If we can just do what we did in the top of the first in a more timely fashion, we should be in for a win, if not, get out the brooms. :(

On the other side, Derek Lowe needs to pitch well tonight, his ERA is iffy, but he tends to get run support when he pitches. Lets hope so tonight!

You beat me too it.

And Derek Lowe has TERRIBLE stats this year, I hadn't noticed. He has about 12 hits per 9 innings given up so far this year, and about 4 walks per game. He has a 4.98 ERA. He needs to return back to no-hitter form if he wants to be resigned for a lot of money by the sox.

This is true, the sox have scored 7,11,3,10 runs in his outings this season. They're gonna need more runs now, as they just got ANOTHER hit. Today is not his best start for sure.

This doesnt count as bleeding for someone to stop. Its a serious wound with gushing blood. We need one big ass ace bandage to fix this thing.

Who cares what the newspaper says? It's long been one of Boston sports' downsides. Anything and everything gets negative coverage, and thats the main reason some players hate playing here.

Whoa, Dauber just narrowly avoided that pitch,

Anyway, I dont care what Shaughnessy says in the paper tomorrow. I care what I think, and I think that this team blows right now. I'm pissed at them, I dont need to see a writer get pissed to know what I feel.

Mueller I can see as being a one year wonder, but I know he isnt. Ortiz isn't dooing poorly at all this year either. He's battin .284 with 5 homeruns. In fact, he leads the team. He got the team's only RBI last night. Ortiz is one player I'm not worried about. You know he'll snap out of it in a big way.

But the concern is that he was supposed to have fixed the kink in his batting approach that led to 10 homeruns in the first half. After he fixed that thanks to Papa Jack, he went on a tear. It's curious that this didn't carry over to this year.

Hopefully the offensive outburst for the Sox in the 9th was a sign of something good on the horizon. But I did like the fact Francona tried to do something with the lineup. Putting Bellhorn in the 2nd spot with Mueller batting 8th was a good idea that seemed to help Mueller tonight.

If the batting remains cold why not a call up from Pawtucket? Andy Dominique or Febles come to mind...I'm not saying it's necessarily going to be the solution, but why not? Can it hurt? We’ve gone through the rotation and lost all 5 games.

Well, the offense woke up, now lets split this series. Tonight the Sox fell short, but if they can come out like they did in the 9th, we have nothing to worry about.

BTW, the Yanks are down 3-0 in the second...

and in bad news, the Orioles won 10-3, so I think we're tied with them for the division, I might be mistaken, I don't check the standings early on in the season.

I'll tell you what though, Bellhorn's on my Crespo list.
WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT TO GET RID OF BELLHORN?!?!?!?

First of all, who would play 2nd base

Second of all, he is 4th on the team in on-base percentage (.417) and 5th on the team in OPS (.750). He has the most walks on the team (27, only sox player with more walks than strikeouts besides damon), 6th on the team in RBIs (10), tied for the 3rd most runs scored (13), and has stolen 2 bases (3rd on team)

This is the exact reason why Theo is keeping Bellhorn

and in bad news, the Orioles won 10-3, so I think we're tied with them for the division, I might be mistaken, I don't check the standings early on in the season.
We're tied with the yankees and the Orioles are one back. :(
