Depends. I been there occasionally because i live like 20 miles north of it, In springfield Mass. It is sort of ghetto.... depends where you go. most places i seen are non ghetto, allthough i here there is a small very bad ghetto in it.

I want to go. They moved the New England Open to there from Providence. Now my coach isnt gonna take me because he says its terrible there. Im convinced it isnt as bad as he says, but there is nothing I can do about it I guess.

I visit Providence alot. i have an aunt who lives there. I am going next week and i go every few months so i know the place pretty well, and i know well that Providence is worse then Hartford, by a long shot. Not as bad as Springfield though, we had 6 murders already, and its only 3 months in the year.

I'm from CT so I know about Hartford.
Being about half way between NY and Providence, think of it as a town the size of Providence but more like the stinky shit hole that is New York.
